Does anyone around here think Kavanaugh will push through the investigation? Hes been darting around perjury already. By all appearances to me he is all in. He will hope the investigation is 'inconclusive' and that the GOP pushes him through.

Given the climate, it seems like anything less than complete proof of innocence could come back to haunt them

Does anyone around here think Kavanaugh will push through the investigation? Here is the thing about Judge, Judge has three words that can help him and those are "I don't recall" and he will likely say almost exclusively that to any questions asked
Yeah...the only question where I can't imagine that being Judge's response (assuming he still feels favorable to Kavanaugh, which may or may not be the case) is the inevitable question about whether Bart O'Kavanaugh from his 1997 memoir is actually Brett Kavanaugh, as not being able to recall that is silly-and all that does by itself is refute Kavanaugh's increasingly incomprehensible "I am not and have never been a binge/heavy/blackout drinker" position.

i imagine with the fbi investigation they're going to desperately attempt to avoid touching on his spending habits. i don't think its too much of a stretch to say he paid someone off.

Oh cool, looks like America's favorite new soap was extended a few more episodes. The circus continues for another week! FBI will probably come back inconclusive which will be enough to assure those on the fence and Kavanaugh will probably be voted in along party lines.
But wait! Who's this mystery character lurking in the shadows?! Will there be more drama stirred up? What about creepy porn lawyer? Find out next time!

Does anyone around here think Kavanaugh will push through the investigation? He said he would never give up and not stop, but on the other had he said he had never been blackout drunk and was a virgin until marriage. I really have no clue what he will do. I would be interested to see what Vegas thinks!
This is always the case in situations like this. Remember how Republicans used to say the Trump Tower meeting never happened? Same shit here. There are tons of instances throughout history where the shitty person says "I will fight this 100%" up until the point where conclusive evidence is offered, at which point, they yield.
I still think the main reason Kavanaugh is being pushed through so quickly is the fact that they know time is against them. Kavanaugh has a lot of skeletons in that drunk shitbag closet of his, and the only way he makes it is for it to happen quickly. In order words, only if he can avoid an actual investigation. Once the FBI goes sniffing around, it is likely he'll fall apart.

Totally false. Things are partisan because the democrats have become so much more extreme the past 20 years. All you need to do is watch Clintons 1995 state of the union. Democratic policies on illegal immigration and other things are not the best policies for America, they're just designed to create a one party system via demographic change. See also California Prop 187 - passed but never implemented. Any wonder the US state with the highest poverty rate is.... California? http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-jackson-california-poverty-20180114-story.htmlWhy is liberal California the poverty capital of America?
The state and local bureaucracies that implement California's antipoverty programs, however, resisted pro-work reforms. In fact, California recipients of state aid receive a disproportionately large share of it in no-strings-attached cash disbursements. It's as though welfare reform passed California by, leaving a dependency trap in place. Immigrants are falling into it: 55% of immigrant families in the state get some kind of means-tested benefits, compared with just 30% of natives. What is this dumb ass conspiracy theory you are peddling? A multi-generational plan to change demographics to win elections under the dumb ass idea that all children of illegal immigrants will vote democrat? How can you even deny this anymore? I literally posted proof with prop 187 being voted in favour but never implemented.
The extremist policies? Open door immigration + a desire for a more generous welfare system at the same time.Again, all in the article i linked above showing CA having the highest poverty rate in the US with 55% of immigrant families on welfare.Try reading the articles before commentating guys.

The 200K in credit card dept is deeply weird and the sudden pay off and excuse for it existing is equally weak. I think someone did that math that he would have needed to buy like season tickets for like 20 people or something to rack up that much debt. And he had it on a personal loan and credit cards. He also joined a country club that has a 92K entry fee around that time and has 9K in fees yearly. His kids attend schools that costs 10K a year per student. And his home is worth over a million dollars. The dude only makes like +200K a year and his wife make 50K. It is all super weird and doesn't ad up.

FBI to investigate a he says she says from 36 years ago where every witness named by Ford has said they have no idea what she’s talking about, one never even met Kavanaugh. Can’t remember the house, can’t remember who drove her home and no police report.
Doubt such an investigation would need even one week, one day should suffice.

Because its really stupid? Is this a trick question?
Did you read the article you linked that showed it was bad governance that caused CA to have that poverty rate? Did you get to the 55% of immigrants live in poverty and skip the rest? Did you know that CA's goverment was one of the most dysfunctional in the country for decades? They were ordered to fix their prisons by the Supreme Court like 3-4 times and only did it when they were finally forced to. And they really don't like poor people, cutting services for them all the time and trying to bus the homeless out of cities.
Seriously. If you are going to peddle conspiracy theories, peddle ones that make the mildest sense. The people immigrating to the US don't vote in a demographic block and never really have. This is like when the Irish came to the US and everyone was afraid they would vote for whoever the Pope told them to. That is how dumb it is.

Kavanaugh definitely has a weird history of finances, not limited to only that 200k baseball ticket debt. Seems like it would take far more than a week to really dig into it. And I expect him to be fighting it every step of the way if they try to get access to his bank records and whatnot. Seems pretty optimistic to think they'll come up with much :/

So the investigation is limited in scope.
And yet, if they are investigating if a assaault too place, avenatti telling the FBI the same thing happened to someone else, even just for the sake of Ford's case, it still makes sense to interview other people.

Well the op-ed you linked is kind of trash.
Premise is that CA has the highest poverty rate (per not the poverty rate, but the supplemental rate) and that's partly because of dysfunctional programs like " in some cases, individuals with incomes 200% above the poverty line receive benefits." but that's 200% the poverty line, not the supplemental line.
So it's mixing this with that and not trying to paint an objective picture. It's trying to distort reality enough to trick the dumb-asses out there, and it succeeded.
~100% of citizens will receive means-tested benefits during their lifetimes. Why is a 55% figure for immigrants scary?
CA has one of the stronger economies in the nation.

Here is a good preview of where the investigation will focus just on the testimony we have recieved. The LATimes contacted some former FBI agents for this summary.
If the FBI gets involved, agents would probably focus their first interviews on Ford, Kavanaugh, Judge, Smythe and Keyser, former agents said. They would then expand the circle as they developed leads.
Former agents noted that Kavanaugh’s calendar entries from 1982 could help provide timelines and additional witnesses. They noted, for example, a calendar entry on July 1 of a party with several friends, including Judge and Smythe.
Kavanaugh confirmed in his testimony that Chris Garrett, a Georgetown Prep classmate, was at that gathering. Ford testified that Garrett had introduced her to the future judge.
The party was at the home of another Georgetown Prep classmate, Tim Gaudette, according to Kavanaugh’s calendar and testimony. Gaudette did not return text messages or respond to messages left on his voicemail.
A Los Angeles Times reporter located Gaudette’s home from when he was in high school and was allowed inside. Its current owner said the Gaudette family lived in the two-story, single-family house in Rockville, Md., in the early 1980s.
The owner, who requested he not be identified because of security concerns, said the house had undergone renovations since 1982, but the basic layout had not changed.
The house matches some of Ford’s recollection but is inconsistent with some details. For example, she told the Washington Post that the party took place near Columbia Country Club, but Gaudette’s former home is an 11-mile drive away.
Ford told the committee that she drank a beer at the house, and then went upstairs to use the bathroom. At the top of the stairs, she testified, she was pushed into a bedroom across the hall.
During the following assault, she said, Kavanaugh pinned her down and groped her. She escaped after Judge jumped on the bed and they all tumbled to the floor, she testified. She said she ran out of the room and into the bathroom across the hall.
A master bedroom sits at the top of stairs of Gaudette’s old home. It has an en suite bathroom, but none directly across from it. A bedroom down the hall is across from a bathroom.
http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-kavanaugh-ford-fbi-clues-20180928-story.html
This isn't he said, she said. This is she said stuff that maps onto the evidence we have, he lied his ass off repeatedly and cried like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar.
