Not you, GH.
Your plenty fine, as are most people posting here. If any right winger would post even remotely similar stuff to the constant propaganda bs that GH spouts, they would be banned or skinned alive by comments. xDaunt, Danglars and Introvert are basically gone but you would struggle to find anything as outrageous as the bs that GH just shat out on one of his first few "i'm back" posts.
I honestly think, that GH is not just harmful or mislead, I began (some time ago) to think that he is just plain stupid. You can only so long do this utter BS again and again and not realize that your methods are plain harmful.

what your post basically says (your pick): dont challenge my beliefs. dont hurt my feelings. dont annoy me with your poverty (reality).

my pick: "Not the same old stupid and senseless gospel again pls"

I think GreenHorizon's has some good perspective from what I've gathered. I could do without the loaded words though. America's obsession with guns and violent culture comes from our violent past and social demographics hardening their tribal barriers.
|
he does from time to time. though his last post is not indicative of that. it is more a sequence of random bad things about the US meant to somehow make a point lol.

In my experience it is usually some variation of what Artisreal pointed out:

Because dumbing down these concepts to "white bad" and "enslaver bad" might have been interesting a century or two ago, but as far as things stand now, its just empty noise.
Right-wing radio hosts pointing out that Blacks in Chicago murder at a ridiculous rate, is about as useful as pointing out that most mass shooters are White Incels. No data concretely summarized in this world right now is determined by skin color, nor is it determined by the acts of men 400 years ago.
The last fifty or so mass shooters in the USA all have different circumstances and reasons. But if there is one thing certain, it is that legal and illegal guns are very good at taking high body counts.

He's just good at convincing people he's going to change and just needs another chance. Xdaunt and danglars wasn't and didn't care to lie to people about wanting to change.
At some point you just realize he's like that uncle you don't talk to or about anymore and awkwardly ignore him when possible knowing that he's going to be staying around forever for some reason.
He's at least pretty consistent with his shtick and you just gloss over the obvious message that it's always and only Americas fault. Its refreshing to see someone who actively hates America and doesn't care about us politics talk so much in a thread about us politics. You don't get that anywhere else.
It's important to have perspective of the difference between people who want to change everything about America while still preserving the relative concept and those who don't see value in the country and think the only way things get better is if they get a lot worse first. The people who participated in the French Revolution legitimately thought that things would get better for them and they destroyed everything they had to to get there. GH would have been right there storming the bastile.
|
I would also be there storming the Bestile. I happen to think that French Revolution was one the best and proudest moments in human history. However i do disagree with his assements of US situation. It does not resemble in the slightest the circumstances that led to revolutions in France or Russia. I also have more personal problem with him as he always missrepresents the life/reality of communist rule in EE/USSR before the colapse of Soviet Union.

CDC director warns of "impending doom" as COVID cases increase
What they're saying: “I'm going to reflect on the recurring feeling I have of impending doom," Walensky said, appearing to hold back tears. "We do not have the luxury of inaction. For the health of our country, we must work together now to prevent a fourth surge."
Driving the news: The White House coronavirus response team is seeking to confront the current dichotomy in the U.S., in which immense optimism from the speed of the vaccine rollout must be balanced with continued restraint in moving forward with normalcy.
"The thing that’s different this time is we actually have it in our power to be done with this scale of vaccination and that will be so much slower if we have another surge to deal with as well," Walensky said. “I’m speaking today not necessarily as your CDC director, but as a wife, as a mother, as a daughter to ask you to just please hold on a little while longer. I so badly want to be done. I know you all so badly want to be done. We are just almost there, but not quite yet."
...
The big picture: Coronavirus cases are rapidly rising in places including Michigan, New York, New Jersey and other Northeastern states, partially a result of variants of the virus becoming more widespread, experts say. An uptick in travel and states loosening restrictions are also factors.
The 7-day daily average of new cases increased 10.6% from the previous week to 59,773, while the 7-day daily average of deaths increased 2.6% to 968. Even though a remarkable 72% of Americans 65 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, millions of Americans — particularly younger Americans with underlying conditions — remain vulnerable.
now if news of _impending doom_ won't get you a kickstart into the new week I don't know what will lol.

Seems like a bad time for the CDC to say kids only need half the social distancing (3ft) in the classroom that everyone else needs everywhere else (6ft) and for there to be continued pressure for schools to open.

It's a bad time for the teachers too x.x

Chauvin's trial started (the cop who killed George Floyd). His defense is using a pretty ballsy argument : the onlookers distracted officers, so they're the real killers.

Well you gotta throw bullshit if you can't throw anything else
|
He's also said the Chauvin only did what he was trained for during the 19 years of service. Harrowing statement.
|
I agree with the defense attorney, the officer didn’t know where to put his knee because they were too close. Chauvin can be seen in other videos throughout the years missing a step or two as he walked. Therefore he should be dismissed on failure to be physically fit for duty. He couldn’t control his knee in that situation or any situation really. He’s the victim here honestly. There is some sarcasm in this comment

It's a bad time for the teachers too x.x Indeed. Schools were already in desperate conditions pre-covid. 10's of thousands of schools had inadequate/broken HVAC and unsafe/untested water.
10's of thousands of schools weren't safe for the people in them before covid 19, they certainly aren't safe for them amid what looks to be another wave sending states like Michigan back toward their peak numbers of infection.

On the Chauvin trial I can't help but think it will end poorly.

This is definitely true, but if he gets off on THAT then I feel like the department itself is super liable and ripe for a lawsuit, right? It also wouldn't be an excuse that would work for anyone else (imagine a mob enforcer/hitman claiming his culture made him do it).
If the other statement is true (that onlookers made them incapable of not killing people) then they're so incompetent that we need to fine whatever the middle school is that clearly passed them negligently.
