Basically some of his diary esque entries. He's like.. any person and he thinks he's making a sacrifice from the day he started planning it, but he believes it must be done for the greater good.
Bloody more disturbing to read than it would be if he was just an absolute lunatic who couldn't put a sentence together. Some parts could have been taken right out of any persons diary.

It basically describes the ideology behind their group I guess you could call it? It also goes into detail about how to fund and carry out attacks.
citing the manifesto itself, it covers:

Well I actually hope that this guy and the fact that he made public his way of thinking actually does wake a lot of people up. Not to the dangers of a specific ideology but to the fact that belief and conviction has a strong influence on people.
We like to think that all people who do terrible deeds are mentally ill, or absolute lunatics when quite often it is far from the truth. We like to throw words like evil around to use like a mystical and vague explanation for terrible acts, when such a thing as "evil" is only distracting us from understanding why stuff like this happens.
People who are utterly convinced that they are doing the right thing, can do terrible acts just because they think they are doing the right thing. This applies to the nazi's of world war 2, it applies to christian and muslim extremists and it applies to right wing and left wing extremists. Few of them are mentally ill, many of them are convinced of beliefs and ideologies that are down right hostile to reasoning and logic. But within the confines of what they believe, their actions make perfect sense, you might even say they are rational given what they believe.
This is however a realization that is hard to swallow in the post modernist world where every opinion, every ideology is worth the same, we've become too politically correct to the point where we don't have the courage to acknowledge that there are beliefs, morals, opinions and ideologies that are better than others.
People like Anders Behring Breivik is just one more in a long line of people who when you read his posts on wow forums, and his thoughts on everyday life seems disturbingly normal. A person swept up in dangerous beliefs that do not comply with reality. He might be insane who knows, but he does not need to be. All that he needed was to be sufficiently engulfed in these convictions and then to act rationally within his irrationality.
It might be hard to accept the thought but had we had the same convictions he had, or the same convictions a muslim suicide bomber has, or the same convictions a nazi camp officer had any one of us could had been the ones carrying out these crimes. Thats not meant to be a defense of Breivik or any other extremist, but a wake up call to all of us that "evil" is never that far away.

Hi doc, I was wondering how exactly did you determine that what he wrote clarifies that he's a psychopath ? And if he's mentally ill as you say then wouldn't that make him criminally non-responsible ?

I started reading the accounts of the people who were at the island, I got half way through one and I just couldn't read anymore. I'm welling up it's so sad and horrible.

You know what puzzles me. If this guy really whas serious about his convictions why did he commit such a horrible crime? I mean, he surely did more damage than good for his so called ideals since he will gain absolutely no sympathy from anyone. Did this guy think he would inspire other people or something?
