Cigars: A nice Perdomo maybe, but not often. Maybe when I quit cigarettes. Can't stand Hookah, and never smoked Pipe tobacco. Anyone ever had any good rolling tobacco? Only stuff I ever find is swill. But cheap, which is good.

Anyway I still buy like 2 packs/year to survive the exam period. I have like 1 cigarette before exam and one after. So when I buy them cigarettes, I buy camels (took me really long time to find out the right brand for me) I dont buy cigars, but they are sometimes given to me as a gift (birthday and stuff) And my roommate is some kinda of Hookah club member and know everything about them, so he prepares really good Hookas. I try to smoke as few Hookas as possible, but me and my roommates throw a party from time to time so I have a go here and there. Well and about smoking pipes...I understand how people can like them, but it is kinda meh for me. Oh man I am trying to live healthy, but now when I am reading this, I smoke A LOT. OP: It can make you look pretty cool, but Clind Eastwood smokes that one cigar the whole movie , sharing it with Eli Wallach. So basically, he is just holding a cigar in his mouth for several days.

I really want to try unwashed tobacco, but dont know where to find it here in aus. Was reading on some arab smoking forums that its meant to be much more pure/traditional, like drinking straight whiskey instead of pre-mixed cans. Apart from that im just sticking to my port royal wine+rum pouch tobacco, cigarettes are becomming stupidly expensive (upwards of $12 for a pack of 20 really bad cigarettes) in Australia so experimentation is basically not a possibility on my wage. To all the people crying, smoking tobacco or any product thereof is a choice. If you are not prepared for the consequences simply don't start or quit now. Please allow every individual to make their own choice.

Just ran a 5k turkey trot on thanksgiving in 22 minutes. I laugh when ppl tell me that smoking is bad especially when they are overweight. I eat healthy, exercise my body both aerobically and anaerobically and have never had any health issues. Smoking is bad when you combine it was a poor diet and lack of overall physical activity. When i was younger I worked at a starbucks and while enjoying a cig on my 10 minute break an extremely fat lady with a large frap was leaving the starbucks and felt the need to tell me "smoking will kill you". Had i been a lesser person i would have replied, "obesity causes heart-attacks" or something along those lines. In my opinion ordering a meal from a fast food restaurant is worse than buying a pack of smokes. I happen to enjoy cigs, preferably camels or marlboros. And honestly.....who wants to live to be a hundred?? chances are at that age you wont even be able to wipe your own butt ![]() I mean dood, rationalize it however you need.... but smoking is objectively bad for you.... you would be more healthy if you didn't smoke. OT: An occasional Cigar with a smokey glass of scotch by a camp fire.... good times indeed.

I mostly smoke because it really helps remove stress and at my job it tends to get super busy around the time I smoke, and thats also when there are lots of exams in uni. I dislike the general need people feel to tell you to stop smoking. I think everyone is aware of the danger and people still feel obligated to tell us that we are killing ourselves, even thought they have their own terrible habits that can/will kill them early. I find after smoking I am able to work harder and I feel better (especially starting up in november, hello headrushes!) also I find that I am much more sociable after smoking. I unlike most people however have enough willpower to just quit cold turkey, it was the same thing with pot, I smoked it all throughout high school extremely regularly, but after high school I realized how much money I was spending on it then just stopped. I quit literally every year and maybe I don't have the 20 year habit addictive, my body is dependant on nicotine every year. Smoking is probably the worst habit you could have, but it is so terribly demonized. I mean you can't advertise cigarettes in NA except for in magazines and you always have to catch flack from some self-righteous sheltered idiot for smoking. Eating exclusively fatty foods and not exercising is probably literally the second worst habit possible, but you don't see people outside McDonalds or BK or whatever telling people they are killing themselves and you ALWAYS see Mcdonald's commercials. I think for the most part smoking is demonized because when it came into prominence Doctor's said it was good for you and our parents generation had to watch most of their parents die because of it, and thus causing an emotional backed crusade (worst kind). I think that the generation of kids of our children will demonize fast food because they will watch their grandparents die to obesity/heart disease.

I've read a few posts in this thread where people said that when rolling your own you really have to want one, or that after rolling for a while they got annoyed with it and started asking friends for "real" cigarettes. Seven years ago I switched from: + Show Spoiler + ![]() To: + Show Spoiler + ![]() At first I mainly switched for financial reasons, because cigarettes got more and more expensive. It's also true that at first it was a bit annoying, but after a short while two things happened. 1. Rolling became so much second nature that "only smoking when I really want one" didn't really apply to me. I could roll anywhere and anytime. While walking in the wind or rain, you name it. 2. Even though my financial situation got better I didn't want to switch back to "real" cigarettes. They tasted like shit. Way, way, WAY to dry and (for lack of a better word) "crunchy". Also they burned down in what felt like a nanosecond if you wouldn't constantly drag on them. Tobacco (even though I smoked a rather strong halfzware) tastes way smoother, and it kinda even feels like you're moisturizing your throat and lungs while smoking. I can only recommend everyone who smokes regular cigarettes to give tobacco a try (you can, like I did, roll in filters). If you stick to it for a little bit you won't look back. Shit! Now I seriously want to smoke one :D Must... Remain... Strong!!!

Just judging the taste, rolled ones can be so much better, since you can deceide for yourself how much tobacco you want in them and influence how fast they burn down too. As a coincidence: The brand you smokes 7 years ago, is the one I smoke now ![]()

How much do you pay these days for a pack of those in Germany (I'm German too btw)? A pack of Drum is 5.50€ plus papers and filters I usually paid around 7€ per 1.5 days or so. I honestly don't even care that much about health reasons when thinking about smoking, since the world we live in poisons us anyways and in numerous ways, but having ~140€ more per month is actually a nice thing now that I have quit ![]()
