I picked Jews and Japanese, and wrote that many Japanese felt prejudiced against because they could not see as well as other immigrants, and thus had more limited job opportunies as well as struggling in warfare. . lol i wrote about african americans and the great migration (that was WW1 WHooooops) and japanese

I hope that everyone who does crap like this gets their graders angry at them and get spite-failed, despite having correct answers.

Did friends of yours do this and ace it and you fail trying hard or something? At least it's a nice change from the ass tight world of academics these days

They have to read a shit ton of people's papers and answers all about the EXACT SAME THING ALL DAY LONG. these little blurbs just give them something to giggle about.

It doesn't make their jobs harder in any way. Assuming you're not wasting actual "essay writing time" with your drawings/ cross-outs it can't hurt you. It can potentially help you, as i said earlier in the thread, if your jokes are generally in good taste. Like "This is Sparta" crossed out or random haikus crossed out might actually get you a few laughs, and therefore a more friendly grader. On the other hand writing things like "Burn the fags, LOL" and "Women belong in the kitchen" and crossing those things out will probably make you very sad when you see your score.

That's not to say you can't be entertaining in a creative way... I've had some very funny students who purposefully do something in a way that made me chuckle... but it didn't get in the way of me being able to effectively and efficiently grade their work quickly, and it didn't show a contempt for the system... which is fairly immature.

I've seen maybe one example given in this whole thread of an actual grader being spoken to. I don't grade standardized tests so I can't really say how they feel about this... but similar stuff drives me crazy when I grade regular things including state finals... it is generally not appreciated... Well I know that most teachers will certainly not rule in your favor but being creative does not hurt. From my experience, most professors I know tend to be very unusual and the type of people who would enjoy that kind of stuff, especially when grading hundreds of formulaic essays all day. It also does not hurt to be creative since you have a lot of free time after the tests and you may get very lucky and run into a professor who may grade in your favor.
