but since it is ap season, i might as well share a story. 2 years ago in junior year, i took stats. i had a good teacher, it was a pretty easy course anyways, so i finished the test really early. so, i had two choices: to put my head down and fake sleep, or to mess around. i chose the latter and covered the extra space in my free response with haikus about math. i actually ended up requesting extra paper and ended up writing a pseudo-epic poem about going around and beating up on math. when i got my 5 minute warning, i drew a nice thick line through all of it, packed it all up, and turned it in. well, i got a 5. unfortunately, some kid from another school who came to ours to take the stats exam (his didnt offer it) cheated and was later caught. so, my grade got nullified, and it was a bit of a bummer. i had to take a stats class as a business pre req this year-- it was hard, but it was a pretty good class overall. interestingly though, that session of haiku and poem writing gave me my inspiration for one of my college essays. for uchicago, one of the essay suggestions was to "find x". so, i ended up writing a story about finding x like a game of hide and go seek. i felt it was a pretty clever idea (it got me in, lol). | ||

I and several of my friends are incredibly fast test takers, so we always use the spare space to draw pictures and write comedy to make the graders day a little happier. granted most ap exams are graded with a group of readers, so at least 10 or so people grade your paper. so there's almost no chance doing something like this could ever mess with your score. either way, i was paranoid too lol. Each essay is graded by 2 readers. If there's a significant difference between them, a third reads it. | ||
