Its hit and miss being played with randoms tbh, good teamwork is really needed for it, and i can see some interesting scenarios coming out of it ![]() Only other pvp i played was the CTB with 3 points - loved flying in on the speeder and having the "main" point in the middle. Trolling them by going stealth -> force smash the ground to interupt them all capping hahaha. I agree the real test is in how they can keep us all hooked, i will for sure play through at the very least 4 characters. (2 empire/republic 1 jedi and gunner.) for the storylines, probably 8 but i havent seen how long the class quests are yet and if they truely make the experience different enough to play it through 4 times without stagnating. Although in honestly in the short time ive played it (one flashpoint and two pvp modes) i am having soooo much fun (not going into the solo story side of things.) and i would happily play them all day. Black talon (the first flashpoint) was an exciting storyline put at such a good moment, you just made it off your starting planet to the fleet and then thrust into a space battle on your way to another planet. epic. ^^ Yea I really like the 2 other arenas but not such a huge fan of hutball. Too much of a clusterfuck for a pug to handle and it drags on too long imo when one team usually dominates. I think if they put in ability to chose BG's hutball would be a graveyard. But otherwise Ive enjoyed the pvp so far more so than WoW's BG's which are usually zerg fests.

WoW allowed everything from the start. And then scaled back & blocked mods / functionality (i.e. guildchat - irc communication). SWTOR is blocking everything and will allow stuff over time. It's basically two different approaches - both are valid. You can probably expect skinning (ui scaling) support very soon. And maybe some very basic new features (tot, self cast). I personally doubt it will ever have such mod support like WoW does (and that's not necessary). The problems don't lie with those, but with the game engine. By engine I refer to the difficulty targeting people, the buff/debuff monitoring, lack of anything showing who your target is targeting, lack of macros/focus cast key/self cast key. Different people - different opinions. I agree with the buff/debuff monitoring (but maybe that will change with more experience) and lack of self casting. And I personally dont have problems with targeting. Target of Target also doesnt bother me - I use the assist key to find that out. I also dislike the idea of macros / focus cast keys.

Have you tried trying to target a single person in the middle of a 5-10 person mob in PvP while you are moving yourself? I can only imagine you haven't if you think the targeting is currently up to par. Target of target doesn't bother you much if you're a dps or a healer. What if you're a tank? You won't be able to immediately react when someone else grabs aggro because you won't know who the boss is targeting. This is even more important in PvP. Is that person about to CC you or someone else? What is your reasoning for disliking macros and focus cast keys? And do you have a source regarding addons in SWTOR? I have not come across any official statements about this and would be extremely glad if they were implementing them, even if in a heavily controlled manner.

I dont have a source regarding the addons. Just my guess based on the current lack of any customization (no skinning & scaling) and the lack of a combat log. Those are very easy to implement but they havent done so yet - so they're probably not very far in that development (you need an event log to programm addons which follow logic; skinning is - well just a different skin - therefore I seperate them). Your imagination is wrong ![]() ToT Tank: Does it matter who the boss is targeting? Or isnt "anyone but you" not enough? And if you have an ability for your target - hit your assist key and then your ability. ToT PvP: Depends - of course it's useful. But if your other suggestions (focus target modifiers, ...) are implemented your enemy can circumvent it. He switches his target after starting a cast and it will still complete on the initial target (I just tested this with a channel, dont know if it works with a normal cast in SWTOR). And that's basically my problem with macros. Too many options to "trick" the system. Target macros for things with static names, hell even opponent names (of well known opponents). Automatically target something different after you start the cast (if you complete the cast on the initial target). No situational awareness / target requirement when you just watch your focus target's castbar and when you see a CC on specific ToT X you just press one key and this does everything else for you. Using one keypress to fire multiple actions (gcd independent). Priority systems based upon the order in which you write your macros. Stuff like /castsequence ...

Exactly the reason I'm also against a lot of it, my most recent experience with macros was with Rift and there you could make a macro and fit your entire rotation into one key and no real downsides to it. When it comes to addons, well, look at Deadly Boss Mods in WoW or Gearscore, that's shit that comes up if you let people freely create addons. I just hope Bioware focuses on popular requests themselves instead, things like a damagemeter, UI scaling, targets target (or even one extra target on here), being able to reposition the UI, improve the auction house and mail, better and more customizable raid frames. Not like they technically shouldn't be able to do this themselves without too much effort.

I.E. in WoW, all of my healing spells have the macro "/cast [target=mouseover, exists] Healing Spell; Healing Spell" that lets me heal whatever my current mouseover target is, and if I have no mouseover target it heals my current target. Would just be a quality of life improvement.

At first I was reeled in by great storyline, the voice acting and the choices in conversation (level 33 bounty hunter). However, the more time I keep putting into this game, the more I get frustrated by what I see (and don't see) in the game. There are so many bugs here and there that it really does start to get annoying. I didn't experience this particular problem, but my friend had a quest pending bug and was literally unable to do anything for about 24 hours until the bug got patched yesterday morning. I feel it's only a matter of time before I come across something like that. After a while, the story mode options got a bit predictable. The side quests I am starting to find rather unfulfilling, and suddenly things are starting to feel like a grind, and if not, then boring. At first I was keen to explore the new PvP arenas and flash points. But after doing several, the inconvenience of not being able to have a customisable UI comes into play, as well as what appears to be some huge balance issues amongst classes (which I expect to be changed no doubt at some point) Whilst there are many things and ideas in the game that are highly enjoyable and convenient (having your companions sell the trash, they do the crafting so you don't have to, the space battle mini games etc...) I feel there are too many underlying problems and issues that need to be dealt with that shouldn't need to have been dealt with in the first place. Tried and tested stuff from other mmo's (yes. A lot draws back on wow and it's 7 years of success) like a galactic market that is convenient to use, LFG systems, macros, customisable UI, addons etc... are just not in the game at all. Now, whilst a lot of people will say "but it's only 2 days after release give it time", there are some fundamentals to an MMO that I expect a 2011/2012 game to have, and bioware has just ignored them. RIFT I thought was a fantastic platform, and since release has done so much, it's weakness was having to develop a story principle from scratch which is why it never caught on to people. WoW had 3 warcraft series before it, and Star wars as we all know has a huge cult following worldwide. I'm starting to feel that the game needed more time before being released (Christmas got $_$ in the eyes of bioware), and that the beta weekends were just a huge publicity stunt instead of actually ironing out the problems that still crop up in game. For now, I am content, but I have a horrible gut feeling that once i get past the glitz, the glamour and the sparkling lights of a new star wars game, there isn't going to be anything wanting to keep me playing past a months subscription, like WoW did when I used to play it. Looks like I'm going to have to get hyped for guild wars 2 (even though I didn't play the first) and of course heart of the swarm!

I havent found any real tweaks yet. I put shadows to low and disabled bloom. Any other suggestions? Maybe outside the game menu?

Just fyi this guys is bad , for starters he never uses snare and everyone either kites him outrun or out strafes him (if thats a word even lol ) Secondly sentinels marauders atm are rather trash as well due to bad mechanics , they great for pve but for pvp not so much . Their pvp spec combat is pure crap , watchman is best dps in pve but u simply cant sustain in pvp. Just a heads up for everyone who wish to pick marauder sentinel
