PS4 easy purchase for me, never switched to Xbox camp in the first place. Personally I find having a gaming PC + current gen Playstation is a perfect combo for gamers. Wii is for casuals who buy the cheap gimmicky system yet buy no games for it, and Xbox for the gamers without good PC's.
This is my position exactly.
The only good exclusives for Xbox, in my view, have been shooters... for which I have a PC that does it a million times better. PS4 is still the clear front runner for my $.
The thing is Xbox 360 is only popular in the US, unlike PS or PS2 it was a world wide phenomenal. While outside the US, PS3 is still the bigger dog esp in Asian, Xbox 360 is like non-existence. So with this PS4 announced in this kind of smashing manner, I don't see how Xbox One can beat it since Sony will get Asia for free, much of Europe, the only territory to fight is US and if things keep like this until launch Sony will take that as well.
Sony learnt from their mistake with the Cell structure, they went for x86 this time which make game developing much easier. Why Xbox 360 gained such a ground of PS3 is actually not because of their cheaper price alone but also how much easier it is to develop a game for 360 compare to PS3.
One more thing is those Sony inhouse game developers are world class and better than anything Microsoft can offer. Santa Monica for one comes to mind, I don't see how MS can build up a network of inhouse devp like Sony do.
The last thing, We MISSED out alot of awesome game that only released in Japan due to the language and culture barrier. If Sony can put some effort on bringing those games cross the oceans, they will have so much awesome games that Microsoft can't have even in their sweetest dreams.
I owned both PS3 and Xbox 360 this gen, but for the next gen it will be PS4 from the get go for me. I don't see any reason to pay $100 more just to get myself connect to the internet to play my games. Fuk that.

ofc not ^^ MGS is a Playstation classic. Surprised and kinda sad ( as a PS stan) that they ported it to Xbox, but since Ps4 owned XboxOne so hard it's ok.

The AV cable made sense for its time since that was when tvs were transitioning to hdtvs. I dont think the launch 360 did either until the more expensive models. And mgs being on xbox is no surprise. Money talks

Exclusivity only hurts the consumer, and it's quite hilarious when people don't realize that and argue against multiplatform. Exclusivity is a marketing tool for console makers, they FORCE you to buy their console if you want the game. The only freedom you want as a consumer is the freedom to buy the game and play it on your system, exclusivity is a restriction which impedes that freedom.
A consumer can never lose anything from a game being multiplatform, while console makers might lose potential buyers.
