Wow Perry Jones went from being #1 or #2 pick for last years draft and decided to undergo the draft now this season he gets selected 28th. Thank god he went to college for another year or Cleveland/Timberwolves would have selected a bust.

I think j.j. would be worth it for the nets from a business perspective, sharing new york with the knicks for the next few years, it will be key for them to not totally suck balls. if they can retain williams and get johnson, they get the best backcourt in the east, and most likely punch themselves a playoff tickets for 2 out of the 4 years. they won't do anything in the playoffs, but most nba fans don't know/care about that, they just want to see stars beat up on other stars. it'll be vital is rejuvinating the brooklyn nets brand recognition the first few years in their new home, then after miami dissipates when their contracts burn out (yes I doubt it will happen too), brooklyn can look towards resigning their stars for more appropriate salaries while trying to obtain the talent to push them over the edge.

do I think its a good idea? of course not, I want high level basketball primarily. ia it a good way for prokohov to make up some of his losses, sure.

Joe Johnson + Deron Williams would also be a sieve defensively in the back court. Just not a good pairing at all.

yea, and I agree, they won't do anything with johnsons contract and williams at max, their next best players being brooks and wallace, but at least they won't be so horrible they can't fill the stands. which is probably the important thing right now.

they did just lock wallace on a 40 over 4, okay enough deal which puts a good lock on the sf position. they have a decent 2 guard already, so their wings would be set at jj, wallace and brooks for the next three years. its not great, but its not the shit the have been putting out recently either.

Kind of surprised no one is talking about Damian Lillard being selected 6th. Comes from a little, unsuccessful school in Utah (Weber State) yet taken as a very early pick. Should be interesting to see how he does.

I guess he did real well in workouts with the other big school prospects, so I think he'll do alright. My prediction is he wasn't worth the 6th overall pick, but he'll have a nice solid career in portland.

That third year would be a lot of $$ though to pay a backup C playing maybe 12-18mins a game.

It sucks to an extent for Asik too though--he's good enough to be a starting C (if he can work on his fouling issues) and could probably see significant minutes on a team like Houston.

I think it's a bit of an overpay, but can understand why the Bulls would want to keep him.

Nice to see the owners learnt nothing from their stance in the last CBA.

I like Batum and all--good kid and player--but that's way too much for him. He would be a great fit for Minny though with his shooting and defending.

Apparently Houston's offer is an even 8.4 mill per year for 3 years.

It's the Bulls that have to do the 5/5/15 thing if they want to match the offer to Asik because of the new CBA.

This is actually a pretty good move as the Bulls can't match unless they trade Noah or amnesty Boozer just to get themselves under the cap.

I doubt the Bulls are going to amnesty Boozer though because even if they don't have his salary listed in the books, they are still going to have to pay for him.
