He's being heavily gifted for being a great roll guy but he against quick or bulky defenders he has limited options because he can't shoot and has no ball handling ability. There are a couple of guys I'd take over him in a PnR situation.

It's a statistical thing not an opinion I have. Who knows if having them together will be a great thing or not, or even whether Kobe will want to stay out of the offense for x number of plays.

That's a bit of an adjustment for Kobe who's played in the triangle and faux triangle his whole career. Aren't they playing Princeton/Motion offense? Kobe will have a lot to do with the ball even if Nash is in. Also, I've always wondered about Kobe playing more like Ray Allen - not entirely, of course, but moving around, getting a nice shot without the ball and all that. That'll never happen.

Makes business sense for OKC - they are paying penalty on every dollar they pay him. Even so, 54m over 4 years was a pretty fair offer... only 6m below a max 4 year offer under the current rules.

I have to say that this Simmons article makes a lot of sense to me: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8486795/the-harden-dilemma The Thunder crying about not being to afford paying the luxury tax just doesn't add up when you consider how successful the franchise has been and how affordable the team has been up to this point. No team can expect to compete for a championship these days while paying as little as the Thunder have been over the past few without a LOT of luck. OKC had the stars align for them to compete for a championship at what should be considered a substantial bargain for the past few years, and now they're going to balk because they have to pay what most contenders have to pay? This while they're one of the most successful teams in the league, with three hugely marketable stars? Let's also not forget that the ownership consists of very rich people. Like Simmons, I don't buy it. As much as it helps the prospects of my hometown teams (Lakers and Clippers), I'm disappointed at this result. OKC had something really special on that team, and should have been able to make it work. They should still contend for this season and for seasons going forward, but we'll never get to see what would have happened if the Westbrook/Durant/Harden/Ibaka core could have continued to grow after last season's growth and maturity in the playoffs (vs Spurs in particular) and finals defeat. Damn shame.
