they did just lock wallace on a 40 over 4, okay enough deal which puts a good lock on the sf position. they have a decent 2 guard already, so their wings would be set at jj, wallace and brooks for the next three years. its not great, but its not the shit the have been putting out recently either.

Comes from a little, unsuccessful school in Utah (Weber State) yet taken as a very early pick. Should be interesting to see how he does. I guess he did real well in workouts with the other big school prospects, so I think he'll do alright. My prediction is he wasn't worth the 6th overall pick, but he'll have a nice solid career in portland.

Dwight Howard’s days with the Orlando Magic are likely numbered. The Magic are actively shopping Howard and new general manager Rob Hennigan is prepared to trade the superstar center, according to sources close to the situation. When Hennigan interviewed for the job, he made it clear that he would be willing to trade Howard if necessary. Now, with the relationship between the player and organization unsalvageable, Howard will likely be dealt at some point in the near future. Orlando has already started negotiating with a number of potential suitors, according to sources. Since taking the job, Hennigan has told people around the league that if Howard didn’t want to be in Orlando, he would be traded. On Friday, Howard met face-to-face with Hennigan in Los Angeles. The six-time All-Star reiterated his unhappiness with the organization and asked to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. While Howard wants to be dealt to Brooklyn, it’s unlikely that the Magic will send him to the Nets since other teams have more attractive assets to offer. also do note jameer nelson did not resign with the magic

And I'm reading the Rockets have offered Asik 3/25? Do you match if you're the Bulls? A lot of cheddar for a backup C (albeit a very good one)...

Here's what he's owed for the next 4 seasons: $19,752,645 $21,466,718 $23,180,790 $24,894,863 This for an average efficiency shooting guard who isn't a stellar denfender. Atlanta would be laughing if they could find a sucker to offload JJ onto.

It sucks to an extent for Asik too though--he's good enough to be a starting C (if he can work on his fouling issues) and could probably see significant minutes on a team like Houston. I think it's a bit of an overpay, but can understand why the Bulls would want to keep him.

Nice to see the owners learnt nothing from their stance in the last CBA. I like Batum and all--good kid and player--but that's way too much for him. He would be a great fit for Minny though with his shooting and defending.

Apparently Houston's offer is an even 8.4 mill per year for 3 years. It's the Bulls that have to do the 5/5/15 thing if they want to match the offer to Asik because of the new CBA. This is actually a pretty good move as the Bulls can't match unless they trade Noah or amnesty Boozer just to get themselves under the cap. I doubt the Bulls are going to amnesty Boozer though because even if they don't have his salary listed in the books, they are still going to have to pay for him.
