Dino rabbits is the best deck of the format bar none, so if you wanna keep the tournament fair and allow for weaker decks to have a chance, rabbit should just be cut completely, along with tour guide.

Limits which should be put in place:
Carrier Zenmaity.
Inzektor Dragonfly.

And with that you have pretty much slowed down the top-top meta decks to let other decks have a chance.

I'm working on a gradius and mask change deck so maybe banning rabbits outright is the best way to do it since that stands no chance at all

I only beat Rabbits with Gradius if I draw really well and manage to combo into 2 Burei's and 1 buriedo in the first couple turns and draw like crazy off bureido and that almost never happens

Just make sure you let everyone know exactly what you're banning before the tournament starts to avoid misunderstandings.

I think Wind-Ups without either Hunter or Zenmaity would be fine. With both of them in the same deck, it gets annoying to deal with, and doesn't make for a fun casual tournament, haha.

I think Tour Guide is fine to have. It's not impossible to deal with and plays much more of a supportive role compared to something like Rabbit. Tour Guide + Genex Ally Birdman is so fun to do.

Tour Guide is just so blatantly the best card in the format, and not in a good way. It literally does everything better than everything else that would fill a similar role. I'd much rather play with rabbits than tour guides, guide gives so much consistency to the rabbit deck.
Guide is the biggest reason the TCG meta is so different from the OCG.

Agreed, Tour Guide combos so well within itself, and with Sangan with deck thinning, bringing out Leviairs, etc. The only reason why the banlist hasn't hit it yet is that the TCG follows the OCG banlist, without regard for the slightly different metagame.

Up in the air for the tournament this weekend.

My mistake, I don't follow the scene anymore, but traditionally Konami (once taken over UDE) did it this way. The days of Lightsworn running rampant because Charge was a TCG exclusive for the longest time with 3, and was not on the banlist as a result.

Those decks are no fun, they make the other player wait for your long ass turn and are completely autopilot. There is zero skill involved in burn/exodia/ftk, absolutely zero

Decks that focus on drawing out or burning/LP manipulation take a long time to get going. Your exodia deck is terrible compared to dragon/royal library exodia decks or empty jar but these decks are incredibly annoying to play against and very easy to side against. I think it's in bad taste. Annoy a duelist for a few minutes while you try to get exodia, if you don't do it in 1 or 2 turns you pretty much auto lose, either way it's a shit game.

The problem with Exodia FTK decks is that they're not fun to play against, for both players, because there is no interaction in the duel. The opponent sits there, waiting for you to finish you off your combos (the derogatory term is "touching yourself"). The person that's playing the deck is drawing out cards, hoping to win in one turn, or else most modern decks will go into OTK mode the next turn. This makes for the game into a 5 minute snoozefest, where most of the time is spent shuffling cards. The more likely result of these duels is FTK wins first, other duelist sides and wins games 2 and 3.

Burn takes way too long to set up, as DrH stated. Frustrating to play against because it's the opposite of FTK decks, they take way too long with all the defensive cards used.

I see no reason to discourage these deck types, whats the point of having a side deck if you don't plan on playing said decks? why don't you just make the tournament mono-deck type if thats the game, what you're encouraging people to do is play 20min no rush, I say go ahead and play your ftk/exodia/burn, it keeps people on their toes.

Dragon exodia is actually extremely difficult to build/play correctly, idk what you guys are talking about. Of course there is very little interaction, but it's definitely skill testing.

Defensive exodia, however, just loses to naturia beast/barkion/shien/laggia/decree/warning/judgment/etc.
If you want to run stuff like hope for escape and stall, Final Countdown is so much better than a slow exodia build. I had a really solid build posted up on my youtube channel about a year ago, but the samurai matchup was so bad I was never able to do anything with it.
