Its been a while since I posted any pictures from the project I am working on but we recently have gotten a bunch more stuff implemented and I am very pleased to showcase some brand new images from the RS project that show off shadows cast by buildings and better lighting on islands and also the newly implemented air units that have recently been implemented and are now in-game..

Very cool. NetStorm was my very first multiplayer game, always liked it, and the fact that there's still an active community around after all these years says a lot about the game's quality and potential.

we will soon have the island below ground home finished so that the islands will be looking more like the original islands and will also be getting the finished island edge farms detail meshes in.

We are just about finished with getting a playable alpha and already the current build feel like the original NS.

One thing I should mention is yes bridge are built in segments as original netstorm but they also erode bit by bit over time when damaged or not attached to units or other islands, in the one screenshot you can see bridge is starting to crack.

I think we only ever played one or two games of NS and then that fell through. We should do some more and 2s this time.

Good work on the remake! I think the whirligigs+whirlibases and the bridges look especially good. The stone used for the water temple and geysers look porous so I'm not a huge fan but it's still okay.

P.S. You should just have one thread for RisingStorm and update it.

The rain temple and geysers are earlier models that were done earlier on in the project before we got the new model texture artist to help us and we will be re-texturing them once we get the rest of the models finished.

I should note the above below ground home model is not yet finished, but the stones around the well and on the path are not part of the mesh but are part of the texture with a normal map bumping applied to make it look much more higher detail, also the mesh does not have the lighting applied to it so that is why areas look so bright on the mesh.

Our coder should have a new build for the team to test perhaps tonight or tomorrow night that will include the thunder arc spire and the sail skate working in-game. Once we have tested the new build I will be sure to post some new images of the new units in-game!

After a long while we are pleased to show for the first time the newly finished Nimbian below ground home deco mesh for players islands, our main texture artist has been working hard for the past few months getting the mesh unwrapped and textured and normal mapped and today he sent in the final version for us to show case to the public and now we are very pleased to show the two brand new renders of the the Nimbian below ground home mesh...

The next test build of Rising Storm will have the newly finished below ground homes implemented with the islands so islands will have even more of a classic feel to them!

They look great -- but I'll still hate when they mess up my island layout. Residences are annoying.
