Actually those are illegal now in the NHL and affiliated leagues. Our team last year got new shoulder pads from the Adirondach Phantoms because of this. :D
Oh really? Thats good to hear, those things were fucking scary!

The rest would just be a cherry on top how are they going to crush philly when the mighty panthers are giving them a headache? Bryzgalov might have been sub par in the Pens series but Jose Theodore shutting you out? ouch.

I'll just ask this: Do you think the Blues trap?
STL plays a 1-2-2 when even or ahead. They do play the trap late with the lead and the other teams net empty. So does everyone though.
Watching two defence powerhouses is not my idea of exciting hockey. I liked Pit vs Phi because of the high octane all out offence. Its more exciting

They play solid defensive hockey, but they dont really trap. They aren't a hang back kind of team, they are a I'ma skate hard and forecheck your arse all day kind of team. It 'boring' to play against because it suck creativity out of the game because there is no time and space sort of like the trap, but it definitely isn't the trap.
They usually fore-check with two men deep, and then just come back just as hard. Thats the thing really, they dont hang back, they go for goals they just are likely the most defensively responsible team in the league.

Woooot Kings!
I still dont understand how Vancouver manages to make every single fanbase outside of BC hate them. But hey.

Yeah the Blues are very aggressive on the puck.

Toronto Maple Leafs anyone?
It's way more complex than that and the Canucks have been a really good team for quite some time, but I do question a few players hearts and compete levels sometimes.

I wouldn't call myself a Pens fan or a Crosby fan, but I know some guys who cannot grow a full-fledged beard if their life depended on them. Your guess is as good as mine. Not everyone can grow it out.

It pretty simple, Vancouver has this arrogant sense of entitlement that kind of pisses people off. Nobody likes that guy that is just all full of himself even thought he hasn't done shit.
The Canucks are like the Paris Hilton of the NHL. They think they all that, and honestly they are kinda cute... but they havn't really earned anything.

I suppose that's where we differ. I've always played as a 2 way forward, and so I've always appreciated a good defensive hockey game. I thought the Philly-Pitt series was a circus and hated it.

There's no doubt he'll be asked at this point.
The Canucks won't get equal value back in return, but I don't see how they could possibly think of moving Schneider anymore with how well he played both during the season and in the playoffs.

He won't end up in Toronto.
Tampa or Florida is very likely.

Luongo is going to Florida if he's actually traded. I WANT HODGSON BACK IN VANCOUVER KASSIAN and GRAGNANI DID NOT HELP AT ALL.

Leafs hate is because of the stupid amount of media attention they get in other Canadian NHL markets. All these sports stations would rather do a editorial on the leafs losing 2 games in a row then on Ales Hemsky only scoring 10 goals this season.

I think it because they have so many fans and are so popular. The more fans you have the more complete idiots there are. Same way people think leafs fans are dumb. There just lots of them, so there are naturally a lot of bad apples. I know two or three good Nucks fans, I'm sure there are a lot of them...
But the ones that always stand out to me make me a touch resentful.

It's true Kassian was invisible this series but so was Hodgson in last year's playoffs. It may or may not have hurt one year's playoffs but implications for the future are probably more important, and you can't judge two young players on the basis of half a season... and anyway, with Booth/Kes/Higgins held to something like 5 points total (and 0 goals) over the series? who's to say Hodgson would have made the difference.

Having a dude who can score on the third with some consistency sure would have helped when you're down a Sedin and can't score more than 2 goals in any loss.

The problem with hockey is that fans like him are prevalent, and people like him are at ALL levels in organized hockey. As long as this is the case, this is the hockey that we're going to watch.

No, that's your reason which a few people do indeed share especially if you come from the Ottawa Valley, where TV rights used to be an issue. There are many and I mean many reasons why people love to hate on Toronto and the Maple Leafs. Notice how I separated both?
The issue has a lot of depth.
