All of a sudden the Heats defense becomes this spectacular force, just like the Lakers last finals. The Heat are being allowed to play far more physical than the Celtics are being allowed.

How many times is big baby gonna go up for a layup and get destroyed, while Lebron James does a fadeaway shot that allows no one to touch him that gets called. Cs are getting destroyed. It's like Lebron didn't bother too much until everybody else started to suck. Then he ezpzed the whole thing. It's scary but I'm starting to smell some shit. Sweep?

Everything Lebron and Wade get are the exact same calls Pierce, Kobe, Durant, Westbrook, CP3, Derrick Rose, etc get. The players are very aware of where the ref is at and pull contact, and sometimes even initiate it, fully intent on getting the foul. It takes a very cerebral player with excellent body control to get these calls and that's what separates star players from 2nd team allstars.

That's the thing though, all of those players draw contact, but half the times I don't even see Lebron or Wade get touched(for example that move Wade made on KG, or the fadeaway shot that Lebron had toward the end to put the Heat up 10 after the foul shots).

Garnet swiped Wade's waist very obviously because he let his arm drag out when he juked him. Lebron's fadeaway had clear forearm contact. Those aren't even the "bullshit" calls, the inside basket driving ones are the ones most people complain about stars getting. edit: I can't find the Lebron Fadeaway, but I did find Dwayne's eurostep on garnet

I read Simmons today and he said that we'll see 10 Wades before another Ginobili. And while I can see where that sentiment comes from, Dwyane Wade is one of the "generation" players.

Ginboli has never been a top 10 player.

Edit: And I had to point out to a Lakers fan about how Kobe's career arc changed after 08 (Gasol trade). Big flammable point that ended in Kobe fan tears: Kobe had the better career but he never peaked like Wade. Based on best seasons, doing the most with the worst teams, and career averages Wade has Kobe beat. Badly.

Dwayne Wade has probably hit more crazy shots in his playoff run in 06 than Ginobli has in his entire career. I doubt we'll see 10 Finals MVP, League Lead scoring super stars before we see a player with a lot of finesse and pass savvy, which is really Ginobli's only identifying features. He's the entire reason I'm a heat fan because I hadn't seen anyone as incredibly dynamic since MJ.

He's an idiot sometimes and insightful other times, like all writers. But to defend him, his point is that Manu is a "weird" player. He's left handed, perennially older than his competition, herky-jerky and has range. Simmons never said that Manu was better than Wade, only that, as viewers, we will see Dwyane Wade 2.0 before we see Manu 2.0. To editorialize a little, that Wade is totally amazing, that move in the video was basically Manu's but with added power and explosiveness.
