Just think of the old PGs in the league right now: Kidd, Chauncey, Nash... they all have strong jumpshots and don't rely on penetration and explosiveness to score or dish the ball. Chauncey/Nash are definately in the top 3 in terms of PG shooting (along with stephen curry) while Nash isn't a fantastic shooter but does have range (can shoot the 3ball) and has size/strength/fantastic court vision. They're the type of players that can have long sustainable careers at point.
That explosiveness will leave westbrook/rose eventually. Rose is atleast a decent shooter. But westbrook likely won't be relevant into his mid-late 30s unless he gets some more range. You kind of have it backwards. Nash is a brilliant shooter lacks size and strength; Chauncey is simply a strong shooter with size. I have never thought of Jason Kidd, despite his many talents, as a jump shooter. I meant to say size/strength or strong jumpshots (or a combination of both). Apologies. But these are two things that westbrook certainly doesn't have (yet... he could develop that jumpshot). Kidd isn't a fantastic shooter. But he certainly is a strong shooter (especially a few years ago). I mean he is something like 4th all time in 3ptm (or 5th?).
You're definitely right about Kidd and threes, he had a 5 year run where he could knock them down like clockwork. He still has it but it's more on and off now.

The Bulls are playing amazingly this season they really have a shot at going all the way. Oklahoma is a real darkhorse because they have TWO superstars on their team.. Dont Sleep on Russell Westbrook

I'm just throwing this out there: I don't like Portland. A bunch of talking heads are taking them to upset the Dirks, I disagree. Beating Dallas would not be a surprise, but that is only because Dallas is pretty mediocre. Even if they get by Dallas, I don't see them truly pushing the Lakers (the way Bill Simmons and his gang are cheering for). I think this happens to people because the Playoffs always follow the NCAA tournament where there are actually upsets and everyone wants to pick the upset. Upsets are pretty rare in the playoffs and I don't think anyone under a 3 seed has won the championship in at least 20 years.

I can't imagine making predictions past the first round. Too many teams have been saving their true colors for the playoffs over generating more regular season wins: Heat Lakers Celtics Spurs
And there are a few teams that are winning in ways that I don't understand: Denver Spurs
And some teams are underperforming late in the season Mavs Lakers Orlando
Then there's the somehow underrated Grizzlies, the Blazers...
The Bulls, at least we understand that they're playing with enough intensity that teamwise they should be the team to beat. I'd like to know OKC's win/loss and point differential since the Perkins trade.
The playoffs will make much more sense after the 1st round.

Well damn, the Nets didn't make it again. Better luck next year... (lol)

miami FTW! and i also want denver to win, but their line-up is a little shaky as of late. hope they will have their roster before it's too late.

The playoffs will make much more sense after the 1st round. Well for a long stretch they were playing without perk. And even when he came back he was limited to 20-25 mins a night. So I don't think you're going to get a ton of info. They were rolling towards the end of the year though.

yeah the end of the year is when everyone is resting and limiting points and not playing with their bodies on the lines and etc. so you can't really count that too much.

The East seems like a strong possibility of a MIA - CHI finals. I don't see the Celtics doing that well, they went the wrong way by letting go of gritty players like Tony Allen and Perkins. I would not be shocked to see the Knicks beat the Celtics in the 1st round. ATL/ORL is a tossup but both teams fall short of CHI right now.
The West is very interesting and wide open. The Lakers are not nearly as strong as in past years - Kobe is noticeably slower and they still live & die by his jump shot. Pau is consistent but Artest and Odom can fade when you need them most. I suspect SA is a worse team than their record shows and at any rate a very fragile one - highly dependent on their 3 point shooting and with endurance / durability concerns all over the roster. DAL looks quite solid and can make a run if the chips fall right. OKL is stacked. I can't wait!

Idk man, for some reason i feel like the magic is really going to bring it and it will be a very close series with the bulls. I hope the bulls make it tho, i'm a big rose fan but orlando kinda scares me, nobody really counts them in and they're going to want to prove everybody wrong. Same with the Heat really, every1 just expects them to get knocked out somewhere along the road but in the end they did manage to get 2nd place in their conference and there's no telling what they'll do in the play-offs. In the west im rooting for the thunder but if the Lakers pick it up i dont see any1 really capable of stopping them unfortunately.
Here's to the Bulls after MJ !

Are you kidding about the spurs? They have been probably the most consistent and successful teams in the past 15 years. 4 titles in the past 8-9 years? Playoff contenders the past 20 years? They still have top 5 ever PF's in Timmy with a solid supporting cast strong as ever. They changed up there style and are now getting the offense going with some younger guys. TBH i thought they wouldnt hold up record wise this year like previous years, but they are showing that they are serious and quietly had the best record in the west just about all year.
I really want CHI and rose to get deep. Rose i think is my new fav player. I've always been a mavericks fan but shit they have got to stop choking.
It will be interesting to see how so many veteran teams in the past (Lakers, Celtics, Mavs, Spurs ) will continue to turn it on in the post season. And how some revamped teams like orlando will fair.
Very excited this postseason, but until the lakers show any sign of POST-season weakness they have to be the favorite with basically the same team from last year.

Does anyone have a working stream for the Bulls/Pacers game? I'm stuck at work.
