I'm not calling for Spoelstra's head or anything just wondering how other people feel. Thoughts? Edit: Meant 4-0 series not 4-1.

Something tells me that Riley or Jackson coaching this team wouldn't of let that happen. I'm not calling for Spoelstra's head or anything just wondering how other people feel. Thoughts? A 4-1 series in 4 games? Interesting...

Then TCU beat the Big Ten champions, Wisconsin, in a hard-fought Rose Bowl game. (edit - just to clarify, that's not where the phrase came from, just a funny story)

Errr my bad was steamin over the collapse meant, 4-0. Edit: Oh god watching the press conference ESPN popped up the graphics I was waiting for. Heat 1-4 FG with 24 seconds left in the game to tie or take the lead.

Listen, this happens ALL THE TIME in the NBA. Finals, regular season, other rounds. People are shocked but teams coming back to win a game isn't really a shock.

Mavs squeaked out the win but I don't think they can expect to win playing like this for long. Need Dirk to get over his fever and come back. He's been shooting much more poorly this series than the last two with shots that he normally makes. Also need JJ Barea to make layups after he penetrates because I don't feel comfortable relying on 3's from stevenson/kidd all the time.

Game 2, during the comeback, I'm not sure who made the call, but they switched to giving Jet the ball with Tyson and Dirk double screening on like 5 or 6 possession at the end. Pretty much scored on every possession, except one I think. Spo put Bosh on Dirk on that final possession, and didn't have Anthony in the game, so he messed up that one, but I think drew up a possession where Chalmers got a wide open 3, but maybe we should give Jet credit for going brain dead on that play. Game 3 though, Spo did correct that and put Haslem on Dirk. Bosh got that jumper at the end. This game, Carlisle switches to a zone defense for the first in the 4th, bringing them back in the game, and then when Spoelstra calls a timeout to adjust to the zone, Carlisle stops running the zone, so basically Miami wastes a timeout and adjustment. Also, I think in the 4th quarter, Carlisle tends to play Kidd, Jet, Marion, Dirk & Chandler, which is their best lineup, even though tonight Stevenson got some burn tonight. So that has a bit to do with it. There are better coaches than Spoelstra, but he's the reason the Heat play that suffocating defense. Also, let's remember the Heat had those awesome 4th quarters in the Chicago series. These games have been so close, I guess any extra advantage could've been the difference, but Lebron really seemed passive offensively tonight, I'd put it on him before anyone else from the Heat tonight.

Secondly I am not a Miami Heat fan or a fan of any time. So you can cut the bs On June 08 2011 14:13 Spicy Pepper wrote: Spoelstra is a good coach, but I think Carlisle is better. Carlisle has been good for so long but he never gets credit. People forget how many times he came close with Indiana and I think Detroit? The media only cares about 4 or 5 coaches at once and sweeps everyone else under the rug.

One thing I personally don't like about Spo is the way he addressed the team this year. I admit this is nitpicking the guy, but it always felt like some corny high school coach speech pregame, postgame or in his press conferences. I'm not saying he needs to be inspiring like Doc Rivers, but I would've preferred a more no nonsense and professional approach like Popovich who just tell it how it is, and tell guys to go do it. If it works for them, good for them, but as a basketball fan, it irked me to see that the Heat had been so defensive about the media's questions. I feel like the personality of teams and players tend to take after the coach. This has nothing to do with his X's and O's, but his speeches come off really lame to me. They have been better lately, but it was annoying earlier this season. If you look at Dallas, this whole playoffs, their guys are just focused. They address their mistakes to the media, take a straightforward approach to the media, and just go about their business. Granted the Heat have much more scrutiny, but I think Chris Webber summed up their mentality best earlier this year.

Two things I'm loving about tonight's game: 1. From now on when people mention "the Flu Game" they'll have to clarify if they meant MJ or Nowitzki, and 2. From now on when people try to suggest that LeBron is better than Jordan I can point to this game and laugh at them

Spo's a good coach. Great defensive. Runs simple offense and can't get his stars to consistently buy into complex stuff. He's got more years to get to that level of top tier coaches though.
