The whole point is not having to rely on DRM When you buy a game on Steam you buy a licence to play it on Steam (that can get taken away), on GOG you buy it and its your to do whatever you want with. Moved completely to GOG since January and have been loving it.
That said some games are now connecting steam and GOG galaxy servers so people can play together

LOL. That's the whole point of GoG and one reason why they are awesome.

Also, the whole GoG sale is amazing. Lots of very good games for 80%+ off.
AI War, Shadow Warrior, To The Moon, Lichdom, Witcher 1&2 are pretty much must buy at that price.
System Shock 2 also awesome if you can stand that fact that it is pretty dated in a lot of respects.
I am considering buying Shadowrun returns in addition to the Lichdom and AoW3 that i already got, does someone have opinions on that game? Anything else amazing in there that i missed?

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is more polished than Shadowrun Returns and it's a stand-alone game story wise so consider that.

Well havent bought a game from GoG so far but I got Fallout(1 and 2) and Witcher 2 series for free.
Still got more than 30 games in steam that I havent touched and wont buy a single game untill i start playing most of them.

Dragonfall its better than SR:Returns. More options, better storry. Still lacks in RPG aspect but better than previous iteration.

Its the summer! Hopefully you have some free time to download and give it a shot. Although I am not a huge fan of Bethesda, I am not an anti-fan either. There's something really wonderful about being placed in a big (beautiful) open world filled with towns and cities, each with their own little things to explore (some deeper than others). It really is a solid RPG. And there is at least one truly fascinating part in this game that I will leave to you to discover - it does involve the 'dwarves' or dwemer though.
At some point you do get tired of all the quests, but...that'll take a while

For me, that wasn't the rosiest part of the game, you might even consider it a maddening nightmare. You need to be razor sharp and rather think of it as an abandoned house, or dog, calling - nay! - whispering to you, under the moon and stars, waiting for the dawn, and the feast to start. Otherwise you might go mad, cursing that the game's spell is broken.
