Only buy it if you dont care that your PC is becoming rootkit central.
Civ 5s gameplay is questionable from a 4x veteran standpoint, but at least its a native steam game.

So far in the steam sales I picked up Binding of Isaac - great little indie game - finished it Team Fortress Classic & Half-Life 1 set (for the lolz mainly, although breifly playing HL1 I realised how good it was for its time and even though the visuals is very dated the gameplay is still quite good) Assasins Creed Revelations - never played any AC before the idea apeals to me thought it would be a good chance to give it a shot. That being said I'm really sitting on the fence about the WItcher 2, Batman and Skyrim- I feel they are too similar to AC in a lot of ways and I will eventually get bored. Would love to hear some opinions on this either way.

Once upon a time I would always finish everygame I bought but lately it's more like the exception that I will finish a game, maybe its because I have more or maybe I am hareder to please. .... Yup, I also have this experience more and more. I blame it on getting old. ![]() I just don't have so much time anymore as I used to. So I am looking for more in less time, i.e. I am very quickly annoyed by grinding etc. That being said I'm really sitting on the fence about the WItcher 2, Batman and Skyrim- I feel they are too similar to AC in a lot of ways and I will eventually get bored. Would love to hear some opinions on this either way. I can only comment on Witcher 2. Personally I had an absolutely great time playing this game.It is one of the very few games that I played twice (there is a point in the story where you have to make a decision which will hugely affect the game. It's almost like two games in one). The story continues where the Witcher 1 finished. So it is a definitive plus if you played the first part. Still enjoyable if you did not I guess, but it might take a little bit longer to get immersed into the game. The story is interesting and nicely done. And your decisions in the main story line really do matter. You also have the opportunity to explore on your own (i.e. there is side quests). The combat system takes some time getting used to. Controls are keyboard and mouse. You can parry and attack, roll around to dodge etc..

After that the openness would become a problem for you - there's no direction to go. You can grind small (boring, repetitive) dungeons or do some sidequests. Sure you could just follow the mainquest but imho Skyrim is not a game for that.

Damn limited funds. Also, Civ V is pretty good but to Civ veterans it feels a bit lacking, that expansion helped it quite a lot (bought a steamkey at 19€ during release I think, now it seems to go for 13€ o_o), but if you are reasonably new to such turnbased strategies, it serves well as entry game. Do however note that despite some tweaks the AI still does some questionable things when it comes to diplomacy and most of them prefer war over other options.

Would like to add that Orks Must Die is a really fun little game although it has been said lots before! Pretty cool 3rd person action tower defense.

Civ 5 looks better, better i just could not tolerate the loading times between turns in civ 5, besides a lot of missing stuff from civ 4. Still civ 5 is still a good game especially combat is more fun as long as there arent too many units. edit civ4 with add ons ofc

The Collection is listet at 24,99 EUR. Civ 5 GOTY (9,99) + Korea & Wonders Combo Pack (1,24) + Civ 4 Complete Edition (6,24) + Civ 3 Complete (1,24) adds up to 18,71 EUR. I decided to buy Civ 5 and Civ 4 first. So I'm wondering if it's worth to get the Korea & Wonders Pack as well as Civ 3.

Its new and 17$ is the cheapest I've seen it until now. When you only buy Civ5 GotY and Gods&Kings you end up with ~26$.

The amount of people that enjoy sim/management games might be small, but tropico has excellent gameplay and the atmosphere (carribean dictator) is great. It has no 'real' multiplayer, but its at least a 100 hours of content in the SP + player based scenarios, which is a steal at 7.5 euro.

I really want to buy both Civilization V AND G&K, now the question is how? Having ruled out the Civilization collection which is silly unless you want to play Civilization IV (already have it), what should I do? Should I wait?
