It has some diablo characteristics, +first person shooter with different characters to level up, each with 3 skilltrees, -quests that aren`t as grindy as mmo quests but aren`t that much more interresting. -Limited variety in graphicsettings (the few that were there i personally found very appealing though) +and the variety in settings is only limited relative to the good length of the game +random items to collect and uniques -of which only the weaponslot has huge influence on the gameplay +good humor, nice postapocalyptic setting -not too engaging story +great to play with friends in multiplayer -gets dull rather fast in singleplayer +vehicles to drive -which are terrible imbalanced and don`t feel well integrated into the game mechanics
I say singleplayer you'll get a good 25 hours of fun(trying all characters), and round about 15 more of distraction if you want to grind to the end If you got friends to play with(coop the singleplayercampaign), around 40 hours of fun(one character start to finish)
However, they are releasing the successor to boarderlands soon, if you are in to that type of game you might ruin your appetite by playing the first establishment of the soon to be series now.

Anyone recommend it, including the soundtrack or without? Like others have said, definitely worth getting but I am sure it will be in a daily deal for less. I would wait. I never got the soundtrack even though I find it pretty good. You can listen to most of the tracks on youtube and decide if you really want it.
As for myself, I went ahead and bought both the Ys games. Maybe overpaid by a few dollars if they go on sale later on. Oh well. Also picked up Orcs Must Die! GOTY edition. I have heard alot of good things about it along with watching the WTF episode of it. Looked pretty good. Also picked up The Witcher.

I have borderlands if you want to trade or something, its only vanilla borderlands though without any DLC. You are probably better off getting the GOTY version because its so cheap though and has tons of stuff.
but is it worth playing? If you have friends that will play with you I think it can be really really fun then, based upon people's love for the game that is so wide spread. I personally hated that game because i played it alone (without any dlc). I played it like a single player game and it was terrible in my opinion. I think you can play with other people online and stuff, but my internet was crap when i was playing it so i never got the chance to do that. So, If you plan on playing people online or with personal friends, then its probably worth getting, but i don't think you will like it if you play it by yourself...i may be wrong because its my opinion though.
If you want to trade some game to try it out for vanilla borderlands let me know, I don't really care what game just not an awful abomination of a game.

TRY the DEMo. I Hated Bastion with all my heart, most overrated piece of crap ever. Could not warm up with the controlls, found the announcer annoying, was dissapointed with the dumbed down character customization. I guess, in the end the controlls just did not work for me. Try the demo^^.

Whats the chance New Vegas Ultimate Edition goes down further in price or is it likely that 40% off is as cheap as it will get? Also is New Vegas worth it at this 23.99 price?
|
Borderlands:
If you got 3 friends who also will get it, get it. Otherwise, no.
|
New Vegas is pretty old. I bet it will get to 66% or 75% off.
|
buy spacemarine pack or not... are there still people playing mp?
|
As everyone mentioned, if you have 3 friends to play it with, get it! With all the DLC, you can squeeze quite some gameplay out of it, feels very Diablo-esque for the randomed loot and plenty of content. If not...then no. You can find nice people to play with in MP, but the chat system is crap, no voice chat...can be annoying.

Is Anno 2070 worth getting?

That Civ Collection flash sale is bonkers. Wow!

The first one is great but it has some pacing issues. Also the combat isn't particularly...good. It's not horrible or anything, but it definitely feels half baked nor is it very deep or challenging. Still, it's definitely worth playing if you like story focused RPGs.

witcher 2 is under 20 hours of gameplay, i would buy Witcher 1.
If you are into RPGs that is, for action gameplay 2 is better.

You have no excuse for not buying this right now if you have not.

Not everyone wants to play every single Civ game.
Of course that's a nifty deal, but it also doesn't come with Gods and Kings...the basically necessary expansion that adds a bunch of great content for Civ V. It's basically a 50% off deal for the combo pack right now which is probably the best it's going to get.

Witcher 1 is really strange. After the first like1/3rd of that game I was pretty sure it was one of the worst games I've ever played. By the time I finished the game I thought it was one of the best ever... I think a lot of people felt that way.
It definitely has some MAJOR faults and it certainly isn't for everybody, but if you stick with it for a while you might love it.Just be prepared for lots of tedious loading and voice acting and pretty mundane fighting.
Witcher 2 is VERY different. A much more polished and action filled affair. Personally I think Witcher 2 loses tons of the atmosphere and grit that the first one had and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought i would. It's definitely one of the prettiest if not the prettiest game ever made though.

Man....that Civ deal.... I wouldn't buy the whole Civ collection, but still, Civ V for $5.50, now that's a no brainer. I'm so getting it!

This. First game had a lot of technical faults but felt amazing. Second game was much more polished but just didn't feel as amazing . Kinda like Fallout 3 vs new vegas actually..

But Brink was hot garbage, bots are useless and the playerbase is completely dead and there is no single player (its just mp with bots called SP) Well that settles that matter haha, what about frozen synapse? Really awesome if you like tactics games. It's one of those indie games that actually does something new instead of regurgitate the same shit physics puzzles or prey on your 2d sidescroller nostalgia. Great game I know it's a few pages old.. but FS selling for $4.99 for two copies... I played the demo had to buy it this time!
