+ Show Spoiler + It is easiest to beat him if you stay close, somewhat paradoxically. You can roll past his attacks more easily, he doesn't throw bombs, and the signs he cast won't hit as often. When his back is exposed, let off one strong attack, then roll out of the way and repeat. Just be sure to cast Quen whenever he does, and when you have enough space to do so.

Run away until his shield ends, cast aard, hit few times, cast another one, repeat. He was joke on hard, most big packs of shiel bearing guards were much harder. Aard won't know him down, but he won't attack or parry for few seconds.

I killed like a billion nekkers and something on the right side of the screen said counted from "1/3" to "3/3 monster information" or some similar phrase. I checked in my journal under monsters but there is still no info. It just makes you more effective at fighting them. You can buy a book from a town vendor and you will automatically get 3/3 + whatever information there is to get.

I specced mostly in the warrior talent but the adrenaline rush doesnt work on him and he almost always hits me with his tornado attack so slowly but surely my life drops down until im dead. Theres also no way to drink any potions before the battle :/ HALP

I started on normal but now that im lvl 20+ i literally switch to dragon age/diablo combat since all the swarm do nothing to me and my sword hits everyone around me + the adrenaline executions take care of most small bosses. Seems the only challenge on normal are the big bosses wich also can be abused. Should i switch to hard ?

^^^^ It's a bit late for you to switch -- the lategame is way easier than the early game especially if you go max sword and find all the good weapons/armor. Do not switch to insane -- it's actually an ironman mode and you will not be able to load any of your saves post-switch if you die. vvvv Agree

Obvious console solutions are anyong however the fact you won't see half of the game depending on your choices is pritty cool.

There is no NPC there for some reason, checked during different times of day. The craftsman in the northeast didn't offer the diagram/bombs.

1) Length. It's understandable because there's choices that actually affects the story and it must've been a lot of work to make this game as long as it is. Still, would've loved it to have one (or ten) more chapter. 2) Inventory UI. Clearly designed to be able to be used with a gamepad. Couldn't they just make a separate UI for gamepad and keyboard/mouse? 3) Quick time events. These are good for minigames, but keep them away from boss battles. If there has to be a cinematic moment just let me enjoy it. Are QTEs supposed to give me some stupid illusion that I'm actually in control of what's happening, or what's the purpose of those? -_- Pretty much everything else was awesome though. A great game overall.

I think the shop icon outside the inn is a bug, checked everywhere. However there are 3 craftsmen in Vergen. The smith is north, the armorer is near the gate with 2 other merchants and the trapmaker is south if I recall correctly. Obviously the trapmaker has what you need. As far as I recall the trapmaker was somewhere near the royal palace or noble quarter (whatever its called). You had to go some ways up to get to him. He is human btw, but is displayed on the map.

+ Show Spoiler + Chapter 3 was ridiculously short. Was very enjoyable and I like how everything came together like solved puzzle. But the ending doesn't cut it as it doesn't reveal everything (actaully next to nothing) which is disappointing to say the least considering all the different choices you made. + Show Spoiler + Like you don't know what'll happen next, for Temeria and the other kingdoms, Geralt, Triss and all the others. I for one like to see the consequences of my choices. The ultimate one ![]() Still the best RPG of the year and if it wasn't so short, it'd be better than even DA:O. Comparing it to DA2 is just insulting. That console port isn't even 1/5 of a game TW2 is. Literally.

Theres some shady looking human dude in the "human enclave" took me ages to find that guy ![]() red dot is where the inn is... get out, go up the stairs make u-turn to the left and just go up the way there, should be able to find him from there
