anyone knows where i can get the diagram for building grapeshot bombs (beehives) i know you can buy it from cedric, but i didn't do that and now the story moved on
+ Show Spoiler +i picked iorveth at the end of chapter 1 and now can't close the tunnels in the mine to cut off the necrophages... it's no mainquest, so not that important, but i guess those bombs could be quite useful anyway

I'm not into hairy midgets, honest. I'm just really curious as to what a female dwarf looks like. Same as the Salarian and Turians in Mass Effect, the females of those species exist but you never see them anywhere =/.

can someone give me some advice how to beat the Endriga Queen?
I figured stacking 20 traps and letting her run over it would work but I dont really like the idea of abusing that ^^
so if you guys can tell me how you did it I'd appreciate it

I upgraded my dodge in the sword path skill tree and I could just keep hitting it from the sides / behind. You can use a light attack from quite far away and Geralt will close the gap quickly. I did it fairly late though when I had a pretty good silver sword. See if there's one you can craft that's better than the one you have, it makes a big difference.

I got a ton of daggers and just spammed her to death and it was fairly easy. Otherwise upgraded Quen plus hit and run tactics should work. Or Yrden for the stun, run in, hit 2-3 times and set up another trap. Depends on what you decided to upgrade in your talent tree.

Are you sure? I am fairly positive i got a few hits in with Yrden traps. What difficulty and talents have you picked?

Every large mob in this game has some sort of charge after which it can be hit from behind quite easily.
The endrega queens are no exception. Evade her until she charges into a tree, then hit her from behind. Repeat until she dies.

Really i think the combat system is complete shit. I played this game now for 4 houres and haven't finished the prologe. The story is decent. But I always have the feeling that they mix 2 sentences great story and athmosphere with 20 min boring running around and even crapier fights. Especially if you accidently step into a small fire (on the ground for bbq) you almost insta die. I really expected more from this game. It's dissapointing.
Honestly I thought Gothic4 Arcana was bad.. but this is even worse (same problems as arcana only even crappier executed).

I'm just done beating one. She is able to almost one-shot you so having the Quen sign always up was essential. The other thing is that she takes massive damage if you hit her from behind. The Yrden sign works something like half of the time (sometimes there's the animation but she keeps moving and sometimes, she is stunned) so Quen + Yrden until stun, backstab and repeat until death. (worked pretty well on hard difficulty)

Also how do you manage to "Accidentaly step into a small fire", even if you do, it's hardly insta die.

I lol'd. Seriously you must love the game considering the trivial, nonsensical things you complain about.
Enjoy

You haven't finished the prologue after 4 hours? That is odd considering it's fairly short. Are you getting lost? Are the fights too hard?
Also in Chapter 2, if you allied with + Show Spoiler [minor chapter 2 spoiler] +, there is a place in camp where talking to a couple of NPCs around a campfire will automatically place you into the fire after the dialogue sequence is finished.

This hotkey thing is pissing me off so much... it's not like left handers represent almost 20% of the population, right?
It's the last time I buy a game without making sure there is a way to make the hotkeys not retarded for someone who uses the mouse with the left hand. This game is just not playable for me as it stands.
|
Next week they'll release a hotfix for reversing mouse Y and hotkey remapping.
|
Played it through on hard + Show Spoiler +. I want to play the game again with a slight different storyline but I'm not doing it on Insane mode. It's just ridiculous imo.
Anyone thinking about a playthrough on insane difficulty? :D
You can save the game like normal BUT, if you die you get a one-way ticket to the beginning of the game (start from scratch).
