I'm at the last stage.
Beat 83 dark stages,
You unlock... something!
A build is not a guess, an estimation or a hunch, a feeling, or a foolish intuition. A build is a dependable, unwavering, unarguably accurate, portrayer of your ambition.

Woohoo, I got the kid after failing for 2,5h getting past the first level. Yesterday I tried again and made the first level after 10 minutes. Taking a break can really make the difference. And because SMB crashes when Alt-tabbing I had to do the other two levels right away. Finished after another 2,5 hours.

If you put it in fullscreen windowed mode it shouldn't crash, it worked for me.

I finally did it! Unlocked The Guy and was so excited and then went on a crazy spree for about 5 hours trying to 100% the game. Total deaths 9369 and climbing.
Ch1 - 4: 100%.
Ch5: 95% all 20 bandages!
Ch6: 84%
Cotton Alley 88%

Between Steve and The Kid and Runman you are guaranteed to A+ the level for 1 - 5.

Does it have a USB plug? If not, you'll need an adapter. If it does you'll just need to plug it into an USB port.

Does this game seem exactly like "N-game" for anyone else except with different graphics?

Yes, a lot of other people have said that. Exactly the same? No. Similar? Yes.

There's nothing wrong with it being similar, since N was a challenging game, so why wouldn't you want more of something that is challenging, especially with better graphics, faster pace, and a lot of other improvements on a genre of game that has an appeal for people who love side-scrolling platformers?

In the same way C&C is the same as SC, yeah it's exactly like that.

Okay, I can't be the only person who doesn't think this game is an undisputed masterpiece. It plays very well, yeah. It doesn't do anything rock-solid perfect and it's dreadfully simple for a modern platformer. "It's supposed be a send-off to the eight-bit era." Which would be fine if it took the eight-bit model and did something new or interesting with it. Stacking the difficulty against the player in an unfair manner (the hitboxes in the game are simply stacked against the player) and turning it into a bite-sized time trial battle didn't do that for me. I know I'm the only person on the planet who played Henry Hatsworth, but I'll be damned before I say Super Meat Boy did anything better than Hatsworth did. And the reviews of that game were pretty middling (ironically because people thought the game's difficulty curve ramped up too quickly).

I definitely don't think this game is a masterpiece. It doesn't really do anything that hasn't been done before, it's simply a refinement of things pioneered by other games.

I disagree that this game has unfair difficulty, though. I've died a lot playing this game, and I rarely felt like the deaths were unfair (except the times where my computer would make the game skip frames and Meat Boy would fall through platforms, that definitely wasn't my fault). What exactly about the hitboxes did you find unintuitive?

Henry Hatsworth was my favorite game last year. I hope Monster Tale turns out good.
Most reviews complained about it being too hard, pretty annoying.

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but in a day and age of short and easy games, this game stands out as being a challenging platformer that isn't overly complicated. What makes it so good imo, is the fact that it doesn't try to do anything new, or try to be fancy with any gimmicks or nice graphics or whatever new games try to do this day and age, it's just a solid platformer.

The game's grid-based level design would lead you to believe that you can't die if you're standing in the adjacent one-by-one square. That's not the case. Take saw blade launchers. The Saw Blade hitbox is larger than a one-by-one block. So you can die if you're standing on the opposite side of a saw blade as it's firing. You can die from a saw blade if you're standing on a platform that's a block above the line of fire. Hell, you can die from touching a saw launcher even if it isn't armed. I haven't played a lot of bullet hell shooters, but my understanding is that they do it right. The hitbox is much, much smaller than the player. That way, there's no doubt if the player screwed up. I have no problem with dying, but death from a single pixel is definitely frustrating.

Really, really had a thing for the Puzzle League mish-mash. Not sure if the Tamagotchi thing is up my alley, but I'm definitely giving it an impulse buy if I hear good enough things about it.

Whether or not I think the game is top-flight or not, I definitely agree that it has a reason to exist. Definitely has an audience, definite fits a niche. Worthy addition to 2010's gaming library.

Well i DL'd it and will play it later, dunno how this game is so fucking amazing as people put it, when it just seems to me liek a platformer where you're a square of meat and get sliced up by the occassional buzz saw.

Maybe it'll surprise me, we'll see.

I bought it off steam yesterday, it's a bit overhyped but it's fun enough for 3.50, also with the custom levels you can add a lot of content.
