im not a very avid platform gamer, never finished any of the original mario games, let alone IWTBG, and yet i was able to clear most of the game (93 bandages, 7 more to go!)
most of the game is figuring out how to clear the stage, but yes, there are parts where the execution is relentlessly difficult. beating the regular game is not too hard, but clearing the entire game with 100% will prove challenging even to the most experienced. I'd say this game kept some nice balance between casual gaming and hardcore challenges for all to enjoy
To some people it probably is nearly impossible. I've read people giving up on like World 4. So no it's not impossible as it could be, but it takes some precision timing, quick reactions, patience, and confidence, and is a lot more hardcore than most any other platformers out there.
It's also possible you are just a better gamer than some other people. So where you think something isn't that difficult, other people might think otherwise.

Yay, beat The Kid level, which also gave me Meat Ninja, and Golden God achievement. Kind of glad I saved it until the end, since it was just that much more satisfying
The whole time on the third level of it, all I was thinking of was, "God I hope my game doesn't crash or some shit"

I got the kid last night too, definitely one of the hardest parts of the game. The regular levels, for me at least, tend to be about figuring out a good path, not so much executing it, but the kid's warpzone was all about the execution.

Yo, dude you're 8th overall- nice stuff! :D
The Zodiac though at 1751.10 :O, wtf... that's less than me, and I've only finished 123 levels o.O.

I've played a little of it, still in the forest, got the bit.trip beat guy too. I like it so far, its easy at the moment and any hard parts are not unfair either. Personally I enjoyed VVVVVV alot more.
The only reason I bother getting bandages is to unlock Captain Viridian too

Ya that time isn't legit. I went through some Leaderboards, and he's got a lot of ones where it's obvious they aren't legit. Like a 0.40 time with Meatboy. That's one of the problems with the PC release, always gonna have someone who can alter files or something to cheat.
Plus on XBLA it's a level playing ground, since everyone has the same system, and the game runs the same for everyone. On PC you have different resolutions, and different computers, and what not, so it's hard to tell if the game is running the same on all systems, and times might be skewed in that regard.
Either way, it would be nice if they were to add Character Specific Times and Leaderboards, would be nice to play all the characters on each level.

Yeah, I was kinda questioning his time since it's so much less than everyone else. I really hope the leader boards don't become a hack fest- but that's probably too much to ask/ impossible to prevent

So I just launched the game and The Kid isn't unlocked anymore.
what the fuck

very hard but so rewarding when you finish a lvl. so awesome

Lol cannot wait for the MAC version of this game. 8 bit Nes was one of my best freinds 20 years ago. Ok wait...that means I AM GETTING OLD ;( no more videogames go and get a new hobby !!!!

11400 deaths later, I finally completed the game 100%. Last levels where the frist warpzone of chapter 5 and The Kid's warpzone. Both where tougher than any level of chapter 7, except maybe 7-19x.
Gotta ask though, now it say's I have 306 level completed, and 40-50 or so other have that as well, but there are 7 guys with 307 levels completed. How do you get that?
Also, does anyone know what the 6 numbers after levels completed on the leaderboard means?
EDIT: Oh wait, that isn't number of levels completed. I'm an idiot.
Keeblur, which character did you mostly use? Feel like I gotta ask since your total time is like about 1000 seconds better than me right now (I'm at #29 currenly, though I have only tried to polish up chapter 1 and 2 so far).

I'm trying to remember the warpzone for world 5 you're talking about. I unlocked it last night and all I remember is I looked at it then killed myself intentionally 3 times because I knew there was no way I was completing it.

If you're talking about Skyscraper, that was definitely the hardest zone in the game for me. Level wise The Kid's zone is probably harder, but the life limit makes Skyscraper a huge pain to go through.

There were a few Mr. Minecraft times, I don't really recall how many. But they took him out of being recorded on the Leaderboard now, so they really need to wipe the times all together, or just by him.
Leaderboards are pretty skewed atm, I wouldn't look too far into them.
I'd like to see them get fixed and optimized better, but I haven't heard them talk too much about it. They are going to start working on the editor and focusing on that more it sounds like.
http://www.supermeatboy.com/ has an update from them explaining what they are up to.
-We locked Mr. Minecraft out of saving, uploading to leaderboards, and getting achievements. He's god. Kind of funny even they call him overpowered.

Yeah, that's the one. Only level I gave up on and put off until later more than once.

Damn, I was banking on using him for all the "no death" achievements for chapter 2-5 >_>
And I seriously don't see anyone getting the "no death" achivement for chapter 7x, that's just silly.

How do you unlock the question mark to the left of world 1 in the map screen?
|
I believe it's for finishing all the minus worlds.
|
yay I made it to The End!, only two more light worlds left T_T
the world 5 boss was easy, but a pain in the ass- not really gratifying to beat :/ same with 5-20, level was just ridiculous. other than that I really enjoyed world 5

I love the warp zones and stuff, and i enjoyed playing this game!

It was a DLC for XBLA, so it'll probably be DLC for PC when it actually is released.
