New things about RO2...

Decent quests : Filled my exp bar 90% from level 28-29 through quests.

Other than killing monsters, specific parts of the environment activate only for quests - plants, decorations. One quest had me milk a goat and another collect firewood. Easy exp.

New mob AI : Monsters can follow you but only up to a certain distance. If someone dies to an aggro, that monster returns to its spawn area. You can't drop monsters on anyone.

Servers with multiple channels : The world doesn't seem as crowded anymore - load times are less since people are playing in alternate dimensions.

Guild/party chat stays universal through different channels.

What's also nice is if an MVP is dead in one channel, you could probably find it spawned on a different channel.

For now buffs stay with you even if you switch channels.

You can also invite people to party through your chat. Parties right now are only up to 5 people.

Loot Distribution: There's a bid system for MVP drops. You can tell the game it's important for you or have the drop skip you on the lottery. Lottery is random.

How was this not bumped yet? The Open Beta test is starting on January 3rd in english version! It was set to start on the 27th of december but there were server issues because so many people tried to login and play at the same time.

Am I the only one waiting for this? I'll sure give it a try, don't know yet how it will go as I haven't tried RO2 yet at all. There are also stress tests going on right now once a day, but I've missed them all so far! The last one was something like 12 hours ago. There was no announcement for a next one yet. During those stress tests, players are invited to login and try the game quickly.

Warning: The servers will be wiped on launch day (3rd of January) so don't worry if you aren't able to test the game during the stress tests, you won't be behind at all on launchday.

It seems like the OP hasn't updated in a long while! It would be time to do so!

I tried the closed beta, the achievement system was interesting but the combat and ui felt as if it was like a wow clone (quite choppy).

Hmm i played Ro1 for like 6-7years on Euro so i test the open beta for sure =D

The only thing i dont found is, is this server only for Seaand get europe an extra server, maybe from Gravity europe?
The german info sites are not very helpful and google nja i dont found realy good informations...

it's pretty much set. there won't be any other international servers for a long time to come.
quite a dick move to drop down the region-locking statement on the day before the actual beta.

i suppose they believe that their player base in those 4 countires is strong enough?
there's nothing to be done though, save for using a proxy to connect to an already laggy experience.

Thats so bad.
I dont understand why gravity europe dont host an international server in the next time.
It must be easy to do this for a subsidiaries, or i am wrong with this?

the beta is already having a good/bad turnout depending on how you view it.
the server channels looked like they were packed to brim and several hundred players are locked out constantly.
any other info you'd want about how the game is going, probably a safe bet to visit their fb page...

though you'll probably see nothing but complaints about the same problems, and some bad memes...
there's going to be a north-america region release in the 'first-half of 2013'. could be anywhere from this month to may i guess.
personally, i don't really have the time of patience to keep 'anticipated' for this game, there are so many others out there on the brink of release. (path of exile, RE6PC, Phantasy star online 2 international, many, many console games)

if you are to play the asiasoft hosted RO2 servers, be very careful of how much dedication and commitment you put into the game. you have to pay money (i think it was 100-150$ USD?) to even begin to dispute a wrongful account suspension and stuff like that. IIRC there's the user agreement where it basically states that they can take away your account for any reason... even if that is normal in an MMO, that is still quite the deadly combo they're running.

enough with the badmouthing, it's obvious my experience with this company has been bad from just this one game.
i hope you enjoy your time in the game regardless~

The game is just a WoW clone, there are very, very few mechanics that will make you think of RO. It's not as big a failure as it was the first time they released the game 4? years ago, but it's still terrible. I played the KR Beta a bit with Milkis when it first started, and I played CBT for the English RO2 servers. It's disappointing, and if you are a fan of RO I would recommend you just forget about RO2 and pretend it doesn't exist.
