So it's just some crackpot speculating on how d3 devs could have made gear switching pointless? My own anecdotal experience pre-patch is this definitely isn't the case and gear switching before death most certainly has an impact.

I don't have a bot.. I beat inferno on my barb a couple weeks ago and was farming cydrea-azmodan until this weekend when I rerolled DH to do it faster. Nice dickhead assumption though, you're a real star.

Nothing in this game will be hard soon (even sooner post-patch) so quick efficient farming will be the only way to sustain the game. Having shit rares dropping allday off monsters that take no skill to kill and you actually have to go searching for them is not a sustainable end game. Bitch and moan about d2 boss runs all you want but that quick efficient gratification potential kept the game alive for so long.

If that is actually how it works then it could actually be correct though. Most people were murdering bosses in seconds with tentacles...You'd be maintaining a very large percentage of the MF.

Please, you are posting colorful language and baseless hyperbole.
If you insist that repeating the same 2 minute stretch of the game is fun for you than you can still do that just fine, and stuff will still drop.
If however you are compelled by the best rewards/time then you will have to take a harder route. Requesting the the best rewards to be based on instant gratification is immature.
Exploiting behaviour patterns is certainly part of D3 but I wouldn´t want the longterm appeal of D3 to be a glorified slotmachine.

They'll buff skills in balance patches. The changes so far have been fixes, and nerfs to egregiously overpowered stuff.

Really, how did they nerf it?

And nerf shielding cause it's just dragging the battle on for longer for no reason. It's really dumb when the mob is fast + shielding or the monster is inherently fast. It's basically testing how much of the map you've already cleared so you have room to kite. When I get shielding phasebeasts right at the waypoint to azmodan, theres no way I can kill them in that small kiting space. Same thing with soul lashers in the keeps.

they lowered the health on the killable elite in the invuln pack by 33% or something

you don't understand. all content becomes trivialized, not all content needs to be artifically stimulating through abritrary time sinks, aka searching for the right monsters to kill.
