Monks are pretty much immune to it given you do all your dmg during SSS.

I read a guide on snapshotting power pylon buffs, it seems like the top clears require a lot of luck with mobs/pylons. Also has anyone experimented with the new static charge build with Shenlong's? i think most of the people easily clearing GR70+ are well in to the mid-1000s. here is alkaizer's rend build that he used for #1 leaderboard (at the time): http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Alkaizer-1727/hero/65227691
Well he's got like 1500 plvls, that's 3500 more primary stats than an plvl 800 player. I can't fathom how fast some of these guys lvl up. I tend to lose motivation to grind after lvl 600, you get almost nothing until 800.

The cave levels are fucking horrible for density and layout.
pretty much every build requires a certain grift layout/density/mob type to be successful. plus, even with the best gear, a ton of power comes from having your paragon 1k+ bc there is no limit on primary stat gain.

if you watch quin's stream, you'lll know how dumb high grifts are.
that's why 60s are good enough for me, i dont want to sit for hours fishing for rngjesus. although trying to get upgrades are pretty much the same shit.

Paragon levels make a massive difference in what you can do. My gear hasn't improved all that much on my sader lately, but just by going from ~400 to just under 600, I can do GR55 without iron skin, and speed farm T8 with basically only akkhans as a defensive skill, spamming 600m+ hammers on the way.
I'd imagine once I hit p800 and max out my chc I could probably push for GR64 or 65, but 66/67 are definitely the realm of p1k+ players.
Fishing is another thing. I finished a 63 on sader(which at the time was good for rank 44, not bad) and that was conduit into 4 elites/rares for ~40% completion from one pylon. I could probably do a 64 with ~20 rift tokens, but that'd cost me pretty much a whole day for just a little bit of epeen.
Finally, sader's suck. Shitty survivability without all defensive CD's up, a defensive CD that costs me probably 6-8 hammers(~5.5 hammers per second), and DPS that's decent right up until more than 3 mobs show up.
In all seriousness though, 5B/s simply isn't competitive with other classes.

pushing for higher grs are just boring imo, even if u dont fish. I cleared solo 58 and its not fun since mobs just take so long to kill and u pretty much just stand still etc

Lost my HC WD this weekend while trying to succeed a 60 grift which was my only achievement left to do for the cool portrait. Pretty sad as I had almost everything ancient and zero ancient backup whatsoever in my bank.
Sigh... I really want that portrait though so I'm going for softcore, at least, I'm pretty sure to have it eventually! Made leaderboards ~400, not a total failure I guess but still... :D

Skip them. Thats what I do on my UE6 DH.
My barb on the other hand doesn't seem to care what he's up against. Cut through them like butter.

Everyone I know hates caves levels for that reason. I've gotten pretty good at identifying when I've entered a loop/dead end but even once you have the knack for that they're still the worst.

Those who put skills like Akarat's champion or Provoke on the left mouse button: how do you manage? My brain almost melted when I tried Provoke on lms. It gives me shitty wrath, because I can't control it that easily, and when it's on cd I can't even auto.I saw others putting blessed hammer there, but why put it there, when shift click+lms = rms, so it's much more convenient to be on the right mouse button.
It's annoying that I am basically playing with one less skill, because I still have Punish on lms, which is pretty much worthless at this point when I'm just spamming hammers all day.
|
Go to key bindings and bind "Force Move" to E or whatever key you find convenient. Press that to move instead of clicking. While I'd much rather be able to bind movement to left-click and another key for skill #1 it's a workable solution.
|
Am I supposed to move around with E then, while pressing the mouse and the number buttons?
|
you could bind force move to your wheel, easy to spam
|
I would also highly recommend anyone using mouse click/hold to move around try out Force Move. I've had mine bound to W since week 1 and will never go back. It becomes habit very easily IMO. Shift+clicks/buttons for abilities, W exclusively for moving around.
|
Aaah, I think I get it. Not the mouse wheel-one, I have no idea why would anyone want to bind it to the mouse scroll, but binding it to E helped me. It still feels insanely strange, because I just have the urge to move with left click, but hey, it beats having an obsolete skill. Thanks!
|
idk if it has changed since I played before this binge, but binding force-move to your mouse wheel was extremely nice if you had a macro. previously if you were holding down the left mouse button to move, macros would not always execute. so spamming your mouse wheel issued the force move command over several seconds VS one command that is held down.
im not sure if this was only for num-lock trick or if it was for keyboard macros made with your software but yeah..
its crucial for builds like this and the heal/xp monk IMO. you cant really move any other way when you have multiple mobs in front of you.

i hate this game i really hope they pull their shit together for next season - the time i had to put in to get lucky for me 70gr level was retarded at a certain point when u know the mobs etc u know the maps u just go in...run throu check the mobs, bad mobs...just leave and reset...thats not good gameplay...pylons should be removed too, cuz even if u get a good map with good mobs u can get screwed cuz of pylons or the lack of them.
i hate this game -_-
