Any suggestion what I can do with my HotA barb if I am unable to get ancient weapon? Damn boring to fight for 2 weeks for that damn waepon. slamming grift lvl56 solo without ancient weapon and hellfire amulett.

I happened to look at my seasonal records and comparing S1 and S4 was really shocking to me:
S1 Crusader farmed up to plvl 145 before completing Akkhan's set, then I took it into a T4 rift, demolished everything and called it a season (probably could have pushed higher actually, but I didn't try).
S4 Monk completed Monkey King's set by plvl 100 and is farming T4/5 rifts, with higher grift record (30 versus low 20's) and drastically less elite kills (~2200 vs ~3500) and one fourth the bounties completed (not sure why I ran so many in S1, maybe I seem to recall fishing for a good RoRG, which I never got).

I guess the cube makes a big difference in both gearing and power levels.

Both toons have the same sheet dps too, in fact my Monk's sheet dps has been roughly the same for ~50 plvls, I just keep getting more set bonuses and CDR to up the killing potential.

Anyhow, are there hc players here? I mainly have two questions:
1. Is there a way to make my skills more responsive? I was playing roland shield bash crus, and it was so damn frustrating when I was pushing a skill 5 times and it still did not activate.
2. Any suggestion for party play? I'm not talking about getting on the 2 or 3 players leaderboard, since none of us are monk, barb or wd, so it would be pointless, but from my experience, our double-damage combo (me+archon wiz) was not the most efficient. We just had way too much damage, but tanking higher grift mobs while they have the 2 players buff was too big of a deal for me, so I just couldn't tank it like in solo, even with lvl 25+ esoteric alteration (maybe I should've leveled another gem item, or leveling another offensive one instead). If we try to push grifts, is it more efficent if I try some zdps build, or just stick to the "kill them faster than they kill us" plan?

I thought in HC everyone will run tons of def, but checking the crus leaderboard for example, everyone went for straight out damage. Not even one defensive legendary gem.

i play hc.
what is your latency in game? i feel like that has some effect on the responsiveness of your abilities but otherwise it sounds like maybe a keyboard issue or just a consequence of the build you are using, try other classes and see if they feel more responsive. i don't play shield bash crusader but i know that people had similar issues with shotgun a while back.

i don't really have grift party advice because i mostly play solo or in pugs.
you don't usually see much difference in hc and sc builds these days. sometimes you might see allres gems instead of mainstat but all the gear rolls are pretty much the same.

honestly, I've had some issues with molten monsters lately as well. I've died a couple of times to an explosion going off earlier than expected or the blast radius hitting me even though I wasn't in it (at least as far as my screen was concerned). IMO for some HC characters, I would probably recommend getting the amy that blocks fire dmg and heals you for that amount instead of something like a hellfire. its unfortunate, but that's the risk you take I suppose.

personally its why ill never roll a hc character on a blizzard server..plus I tend to take risks to see what my character's limits are.. that doesn't bode well for playing hc hehe

its nice that blizzard introduced stuff like that as a get out of jail free card so that hc chars have an easier time contending with lag and whatnot..but I feel like lag on their end is a little inexcusable, especially if you look at high level grifts.

I'm not sure how ppl get enough dmg to clear GR70+. I can only do 60+ with my current setup, and there aren't that many slots left for significant upgrades:

Maybe I need more plvls? I read a guide on snapshotting power pylon buffs, it seems like the top clears require a lot of luck with mobs/pylons.

Also has anyone experimented with the new static charge build with Shenlong's?

i think most of the people easily clearing GR70+ are well in to the mid-1000s.

Every video I've seen of a 70+ clear also has a fair amount of fishing for layout / mob types and praying for power pylons to snapshot EP.

What builds are more/less affected by grift RNG? I'm not looking to push to the 70s, just looking to hit around level 60ish and be able to clear it consistently. So far, I have a 4IK/6Waste barb that I've cleared up to 55 but the times are all over the place. Kinda annoying to be able to do 10-12 minutes one run and then not finish the next.

The cave levels are fucking horrible for density and layout.

My Carnevil pet doc is not a fan. Er, was not a fan. The A2 keywarden does some kind of shenanigans with the missile damping field but my melee pet docs have the same trouble. (Of course he's easy to Spirit Vessel to death; it's the grift timer that goaded me to my suicide.)
