I'll give it a try when I get a decent Tal Rasha amulet. I do have a few double Tal Rasha set pieces I had left over for exactly that reason so I'll throw them in the cube and hope I get lucky.
As for magic weapon I'll have to give it a try. With elemental builds the cold passive (10% more damage on anything chilled or frozen) seems natural to me since you'll always have a cold skill around, though I think the Cold version of Time Warp likely would not apply Chill or Frozen so it might not work there like it does on my Frost Hydra (as well as that I have an Azurewrath with a near 25% Freeze chance).

Oh man, I made around 15 hellfire amulets and almost all of them rolled vitality (think 10ish). Either my lucks sucks or certain stats are more likely to roll. What a waste.

Main stats do have a higher chance to roll I think, especially when enchanting an attribute.

playing the game again after a long hiatus. never played a monk before and beat single player campaign on it. i like how i hit level 70 basically after beating the single player on torment difficulty. anyway wondering the best way to farm for ulianas? i just got two parts of that set plus ring of royal grandeur and WOW. my power level went through the roof. so broken. exploding palm gets applied with way of hundred fists on everything and they all explode lol
so is the best way to complete the set to farm bounties and use the shards to gamble and the components to use kanai's cube upgrade rare to legendary recipe?
or to simply farm rifts because of the 2x leg drop rate?

dont worry about bounties until you absolutely need them to cube things or attempt to upgrade a leg to ancient.
farm rifts and get your DBs + crafting mats. use those in the cube to get your lions claw and fist of az (both are fist weapons) using the upgrade rare. if you get 2 of the same type of Uliana's, you can always use the cube to attempt to get a piece you don't have. upgrade your legendary gems asap using grifts for big power ups (bane of the trapped in particular)
other than that, keep on grinding.

how long do seasons last? or when is the current season scheduled to end?
|
Current season just started a couple weeks ago so it's going to be a couple months before the next.
|
Actually, it's already been a month since the season started (08/28). Seasons are expected to last three months so, it will probably end around early December.
|
wow the seasons are very short. ladder seasons in d2 were much longer from what i can remember. any reason why they decided to make one season only a couple months long? must definitely have something to do with lack of end game content imo

A more benign version is that they patch so often, so they have to reset the leaderboards often.
But as I understand the top GRifts saturated within a couple of weeks, and after that it is only adding on a few more levels from that last polishing of all the rolls, and waiting for that lucky rift. Correct?

Because it doesn't take 8000 baal runs to hit 99

Every season pretty much ends with a major content patch. Once the next one is ready, they'll end this one. Then it's time to play with the new/updated toys.

Personally, I started with bounties so I could cube all those sub-70 legs I picked up. Then I decided most of those effects sucked anyways and I just used mats to craft hallowed armaments and went into rifts.
Also Sage's Set, not because I was going DB farming as a fresh 70, but as my friend said - it's a leg and beats my crappy lvl 60-some yellow.

people usually get bored after 2 months and since they want to save the reputation of this flagship title, around every 3 month they do a major content patch and with it a new season.
Doing a good job so far on saving Diablo as a whole, went from a joke title to a really good game.

I'm pretty much the definition of somebody they completely pissed off with how awful every single aspect of D3 was at launch. I am now playing the game and enjoying the crap out of it.
|
Isnt it 4months till they release the content/major patch?

unless you can farm the bounties/mats efficiently its not worth it. until then, you need poverty legs. IMO rifting is the best way to go about that. most importantly, i wouldn't spend DBs or souls on anything BUT my weapons/key build items until the ones i want drop bc they are one of the biggest dps factors when you hit 70. unless the leg you're cubing is something required for your build, i dont think its worth it.
plus, by rifting, you start saving up your grift tokens, which give you access to the legendary gems and level them. the more you have by the time you reach t7/t8 (which is when sage's really starts paying off) the better.
just my personal view.

There's plenty of mods that will bump you up 3 difficulty levels on their own, before you get any proper build gear.
