I've been trying a bunch of builds for 5v5 and haven't really had any success. He is an early game monster though. No one plays him anymore so when I axe somebody then blink on top of them with masochism they are surprised to see themselves get basically 2 shot. | ||

On August 04 2010 16:49 Shikyo wrote: They even nerfed him recently because he was OP on TT, don't think they'll be buffing him because they want to "balance the game on both maps" they nerfed him twice for tt one was the nerf for his w cd reduct and some stats, not sure then the biggest nerf was you can't cleanse ignite anymore, so he got punched twice in the face. shame, mundo was one of my fav heroes. i went like 14-0 with him on my smurf (win loss) and it was fun stomping noobs, critting 700 and never dying. he's fine in tt, no need to nerf him anymore. add some buffs to mundo since you can just ignite him and watch him die like any other melee dps. just go the good old spirit visage -> starks -> dps item, inf edge preferably then you can go mallet/yoomus/atmas. the reason garen is good now is because it takes time for a hero to influence the top tier of players. you find out how to play from top players, who refine the playstyle. people found out how to itemize garen by going tanky then some dps, top tier dudes show how to play the hero. he got a role and was put into lineups as an offtank/melee dps who can do a ton of damage with his ult. | ||

I just played my first Normal game with Garen, laned with a noob Taric vs longsword Garen and Ezreal. I opened boots first and was doing awful on the lane, and went 0-3-0 during laning, one death being from a Shaco gank. Our team was 3-16 at that point I think, and we lost 7 towers before taking any of theirs. Then it kind of turned around after we picked their Occult Shaco off twice to get his stacks off. Then we won 2 teamfights and pushed mid for victory, I was 8-3-5 at the end. Their garen who had gone for a DPS build was 2-0-1 after the laning but finished the game with 2-1-2, he didn't do anything the whole game. I'm really liking Garen's lategame as well, I could do quite a bit of damage against some RoAers who didn't get mres and I'd never die. | ||

I'm really really happy that the character I chose is viable at all levels of play. I don't know what I'm going to do if someone picks him before me in a game, though.  Maybe I'll buy Xin too just in case. | ||

Although getting mres/lvl glyphs might remove the need... either way at least 3 sunfires. EDIT: Forgot the obligatory "Malady teemo GG" | ||

Yes, of course it is smart to add Mres at a certain point, depending on who you are up against. Burning nukes on someone with damage reduction and 4k hp is still a mistake. | ||
