The tech path and units the AI make depend on which Civilization. I think England is really strong on naval domination, decent on ground and probably weak on air. I know for a fact that Arabia likes to expand cities and crawl their way with Fighter, Bomber assisted by SAM launcher a soon as they have them available.

Ofcourse if you randomly get placed into a hilly desert with a river through it then Amsterdam becomes instantly the greatest city once you get to the Middle Ages. Plodder + Petra + Desert Hill = 200 hammer city without any specialists. I just played such a game. I built tall and went for diplomatic victory. I had the highest production with only 5 cities... and Napoleon had like.... 20? I easily crushed the French fool who dared to declare war on me. I would have gone for a perfect victory (i.e. allied with every single CS).... well.... + Show Spoiler + ![]()

- You can do absolutely no damage to another civilization, but he surrenders to you anyway because he thinks you have a huge army. I think the AI should only offer a peace treaty with tributes if he has at least suffered some damage. - The AI sometimes settle on luxury resources when it's clearly not defendable (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=112756¤tpage=72#1433). This is a little harder to check, but I can think of a few dirty ways to patch this. - The AI has huge problems seiging a city that has a narrow choke. I know it should be difficult, but if the AI choose to move his cannon instead of attacking even though it is already in range of my city, there is a big problem. - The ability to bribe one AI to attack another should be nerfed (i.e. become more costly). - The AI will continue to spread his religion to the player's cities even after he has promised to not do it anymore.

What does "City Production Num Options Considered" mean? I assume if you tell me that one I'll know the other with "num options". What does "No Tech Trade Modifier" mean?

I'm not sure as far as Civ goes, but if it works like chess AIs, basically #options=2 means it always makes one of the two most optimal moves. At #options=10, it might make the 3rd-10th most optimal move sometimes. This is how you program AIs to "play badly". Don't know about the other one, it could have something to do with the AI demanding gold for Research Agreements if your tech is too high.

So long as you are in the same era as the AI, the AI will always agree to RA without extra tributes. It costs 100g more for each era the player is beyond the AI.

One deity game I was going to complete I just couldn't be fucked anymore. The game just came to a standstill, no AI would bother attack another, the ones that went after me would lose most of their army swarming across to that one specific city they wanted to take and I couldn't murder Korea because we just traded nukes all day. Probably spent more time loading through turns than actually doing stuff in a turn. Best option to play as I think is Immortal on Epic speed. Normal speed just shits out pike men before you know it and there's nothing worth doing before getting them.

I get that you have to work with *your* asymmetrical benefit of knowledge of their behavior before they do something in Diety to make any progress at all. It's just so disheartening to play your heart out pitching closely matched AI civ's against eachother to weaken them through diplomacy, then watching an unknown civ enter the field with 3x the score of the next ranked civ and 20/23 available wonders. There's just no possible way to win at that point. I cannot summon any victory condition (even culture) by the time this guy finishes his spaceship. Ughhhh.... I want to try a military diety game next...

Does he have a mic in his playthroughs? Might be curious to check some out to learn some tips. Just started playing Civ5.

He does, check out the playthrough he did with Spain, I think he did a Deity domination victory vs a very fed France. Awesome display of pushing your opponent back whilst he has a tech lead This is the one This also contains an early turn 30's DoW from the Romans, something we've all experienced I think
