Looks impossible to balance 43 civs anyway but still some are really crappy like danemark. But to be honest some civs would be instantly buffed if pre industrial melee was better against range. To be honest i think they should just remove the city backfire when you attack with melee and most of my problems with them would go away.

As a side note I hope their usual fall patch delivers...

Hmm, this would be interesting, and help to make attacking cities more viable with melee armies. Currently if you don't bring archers you might as well go home.

I never attack a city unless I have a shitload of catapults/trebuchets/cannons.

I just finished a Game with Marokko. I had to start War early because Babylon expanded in my territory and Zulu just declared War on me. So from Round 150 on everybody else hated me! I never had any friendships declarations the whole game. I could not get anyone to like me.
So I was forced into conquering everybody, but man the world congress made it hard. The embargoed me, citystates so I couldn't really the marokko-ultimate.
But the fun thing is. I won a Dimplomatic victory, thanks to all the citystates. :D
I started the game yesterday and played 9hrs straight on the first session. Its crazy how addicting this game is.

Congrats and not wanting to diminish your game but this is a prime example of why I will probably deactivate Diplo Victory for now until fixed I feel its often an easy way out fr the player or a pain in the ass when some AI is close to it before any other possible victories.

The only problem with disabling diplomatic victories is that it skews the AI's behavior towards forsaking city-states, making it too easy for the play to gain and maintain alliances.

I disabled diplomatic victories as well.

It is kinda true what xDaunt said, it will make some AI disregard city states, those who try to go for diplomatic victory will of course not try that and because of that not try to get a lot of CS friends. But others like Siam, Alex and Austria will still take CS allies because that is part of their personality

Guys, maybe some of you may help me. I have a problem with my interface: it seems that the tourism and trade stuff is messed up. To the right of the gold coin in the UI, i have this 'TXT_KEY_TOP_PANEL_INTERNATIONAL_TRADE_ROUTES'. I think it's a problem with the game XML's files, since it also happens in the culture tab (displayed with TXT_KEY_CULTURE_OVERVIEW_TT')

Do you know how to resolve this annoying bug? I red that many people had the problem for example with city names, but in my case it's just on tourism and trade stuff
