The thing is, the more you expand, the more science techs cost, the less population your capitol has and the later you will finish your National College. And also, the more you expand, the more likely the AI is to declare war on you, surely destroying your trade routes (the 2nd most important way to catch up in science - after spies). So you will find yourself with about 50% literacy vs. 60% even at the best of times imo, I currently have a game going where I was isolated on a massive continent with Mt. Sinai as England (probably the best possible conditions for wide empire), but despite that I caught up in science only in modern era, after slingshotting Radio. It will be a very difficult win. Instead, you can just get 4 cities, get 3 cargo ships creating food from thin air in your capitol and get 57 size capitol by the end of the game. And probably avoid wars because you keep a low profile. Talking about single player here, no idea about how multiplayer goes.

if they would fix the unit upgrade, instead of a composite a normal bow they would be alright. But technically you can have 3 composites before the opponent even has archers, and everyone knows how easy composites take cities. That's indeed kinda broken (and they are composites with 2 movement no matter what, fuck).

Thats +1 pop +20 culture and either a tech or a pantheon. So ya, Indonesia...what do you guys do with them? Unless its small continents or archepelago you might, at most, get lucky and find two islands that arent colonized so you have 2 nutmegs and 2 cloves...and a bunch of swordsmen with a *roll random for either benefit or horrible horrible pain* I guess the Cind thingy is kind of nice because if you get 2-3 religion spammers you can have a pretty high religion generation to buy stuff later in the game.

That is why, if you DoW more than 1 city state and steal their worker, the other CS will hate you and not give you gold. If you really want 2 workers from CS then steal 1 and NOT make peace, come back in 10 turns and steal another worker. Just don't declare war twice on CS

Yes in my opinion the tech cost for expanding should change, there should be a draw back but a flat 5percent for every city feels too harsh. Aand Im not sure about being able to grow another city with noloss of food from the originating city... feels a bit broken imo. And AI need to feel more threatening again. I shouldnt be able to get away with creating no units at all

You're giving up the potential Gold, Science, and Religious Pressure from trading with a City-State or another Civ.

No idea why Crushinator considers Shoshone strongest or broken, they are great early game but don't have much going for them after, so unless you playing a duel, I don't see them being that powerful.

Shoshone are quite strong, Zulu are a beast for domination. I myself like Poland a lot, won every victory type with them on diety.

Ya but only if you have a decent spawn. if you end up with 1 city state nearby and no one else but the Zulus you can just gg out. On higher difficulties you cant really shank an ai if you find yourself in that position.
