As for Nicole, as much as I love her, I have to also admit she doesn't have the voice to go solo  .To guy below me, personal opinion but Hara was horrible in City Hunter lol. EDIT: There was also talk about how Nicole would do solo which is why I said what I did. | ||

Even if the rumors about Hara not resigning with DSP, she has a large fanbase and she could definitely go into acting if all else fails; she pretty decent in City Hunter considering the role she played. My impression with the DSP/Kara lawsuit thing was Nicole's mom demanding more money and either her/Nicole trying to capture public sympathy by exposing it to the media. I didn't really follow it closely and it seems like nobody actually knows what happened. edit: semantics | ||

I can't tell if she was acting poorly in City Hunter or if the role was stupid; I think a little bit of both. The writer probably wrote the character knowing there had to be a token idol and so made that character not have to do anything complex. Dunno if it's fair to say it was all Nicole/Nicole's mom. She was the most vocal but that doesn't mean she was the only one who wanted that shit. | ||

If the average population thinks that she doesn't have the skills to go solo than they are right, who am I to say otherwise. Her role was to play some whiny your-average-spoilt-teenage-girl that finds her love for being a barista. The writers realized she was somewhat of an unlikable character so they wrote in that part about beating people up, and the audience is able to find some redemption in her determination to protect her father's name. I'm not sure whether that's actually her character in real life, but I think she filled the role pretty well. Do we have to go into the whole thing about "bad acting != an actress playing a character you dislike" again? If she is that way irl, then she's a one-dimensional actress, and if she isn't then I can totally see her doing well in the future. edit- as for the AKP thing that's the vibe I got from there too, but all I'm saying is just because she was the one making the public statements for the group doesn't mean that she was the most bloodthirsty one. She could have had the most time/was the best public speaker or whatever, my only point was that we didn't have a behind the scenes look to see what was really going on. double- as for Nicole going solo I think she has adequate skills for it but more of it seems to be popularity while you're in the group than actual talent. Like whenever T-ara breaks up I could see Jiyeon being more popular as a singer than Soyeon even though Soyeon is better, because she has a larger fanbase. | ||

Tbh I think it started out well (Jiyeon does bitchy well lol) but as her character's become more complex she hasn't handled it as well. Opposite for Sora- I still don't like her but I thought she was fucking awful before and had no idea how she could make a living as an actress.
