13th was the last episode of the first series.
It's alright....I guess. It was one of those shows you stuck with because it had a cool enough setting to have potential, but then failed to deliver anything unique.
First two seasons I would say were the better ones. Third wasn't that good, and this last one isn't proving much better. At this point I'm watching more for the conclusion and the weak hope something cool will happen.
Also
+ Show Spoiler [ZnT] +I think she'll tell Saito for sure. Are you thinking that alone is betraying the pope, or do you think she'll do something more pro-active (like try and forbid him from every using the powers again, or run away with him)?

It was more or less not directed at Southlight, just saying that it'd help out a lot of people who were wondering why it was so funny and yet cannot read Japanese.

The chapter came from the followup series (which lasted 22 chapters), which sort of spoils stuff, so I'm fine with leaving it in Japanese. Thought the image was funny, anyways.
Series is scanslated for two volumes of a total ten-ish unfortunately.

Topic of discussion here are usually things that most of the thread doesn't follow anyway, makes little difference really.

Hahahahaha fair enough. I know that most discussions here are... quite fast moving.

Finished reading Nabari no Ou. Pretty depressing, but sort of a happy end at the end I guess. I shoulda seen that twist coming near the end but I didn't. Good character development and build-up I guess.
Is it better than the anime ? Because all I remember is that it just fucked around with nothing happening and well more of nothing happening, pretty consistent depression and random yaoi hints. I had to really really struggle through it, more so than fodder trash that I watch to put myself to sleep.

Man, I've been playing Kamidori since I saw that it was translated (Chapter 8 now) in this thread. I remember I tried playing the previous game in the series (Himegari, I think it was?) but stopped playing after awhile because I didn't feel like skipping through all the scenes I couldn't read just to play the game. There are definitely a few things that I think could have been done better, but overall it's a fun game.

It was still really slow (bad pacing) because some of the character development really amounted to nothing (ie. the standard emo circle), but Miharu and Asahi's stuff was really well done, as was the ultimate villain, although I felt like they rushed that final confrontation of sorts (not that it was an integral part anyways, as Miharu's past was the big juice). I enjoyed it, but I think it could have been half as long and still just as good.
I didn't watch the anime to its conclusion but of 14 volumes the anime completed when I believe the manga was only at like 6. Go figure?
If curious: + Show Spoiler [Nabari no Ou manga] +most of the story revolves around Asahi (his mother) and the "sin" she committed 10 years ago, when she activated the ShinraBanshou and erased the memories of that war from everyone. The main thing she erased from everyone (save for two) was that there was a skill that had been created to eradicate the Shinra Banshou, but as they were preparing to do it, they were attacked by the Kairoushuu ninja.
1) Ironically, when she inherited the Shinra Banshou, Asahi and her husband Akatsuki had already left the ninja clans. They'd moved to the outskirts of Ireland with Grandpa Durandal (his name is never listed I think) and a young Toby Durandal (who'd rename himself to "Tobari" when he moved to Japan) and their son Miharu, and when she'd inherited it, Grandpa Durandal set about using the five forbidden skills to construct the anti-Shinra Banshou. 2) The forbidden skill Tobari protects is actually just a simple recorder - back in the ninja era "recording" was a forbidden practice due to it essentially leaving a record as well as undermining pretty much every counter-intelligence measure. Akatsuki (Miharu's dad) just left like a 5 minute family video, basically.
Durandal and Asahi tried to trigger the anti skill, and almost succeeded (Akatsuki died covering Miharu and later Toby, Durandal was slain finishing the ritual), but the main villain shows up at the end and blows off Miharu's face in front of Asahi, which prompts Asahi to declare "what's the use of this if I don't use it now?" and revives Miharu - the effect of Shinra Banshou makes her unable to remember his face, so she basically plasters her own face on him ("What did he look like? Someone tell me what he looked like... he must have looked like me..."), and then the anti-skill triggers, but because of her unwillingness to let go of the power, it sort of seeps out and moves to Miharu. At this point she knows what's coming, so she casts a spell on him to be as "indifferent" as possible - in an effort to prevent him from ever being interested in the power - and dies, having essentially been vampire'd by Miharu.

It's also pretty refreshing that there are ero scenes every two minutes in the game; I think I played until chapter 2-3 before I saw a single one. It picks up a lot as you progress, but it's nice to see that it doesn't force it constantly.
But yeah, I agree entirely on the English point. I've played a few games where I just completely blitzed through it without any idea what was going on because the game was fun (most recent example in memory was Daiteikoku where I played up to the point of translation, then completed the route I was on, completed the Core side campaign, and started another route.) But being able to understand exactly what's going on is a big plus.

Anyone suscribe to shounen alpha? It the america version of shounen jump but it only has 5 manga in it. If I were to suscribe, would I get the same material the shounen jump in japan get? I wont be a week behind or anything right? I want to support them but I kinda wish they would also send me the copy of it hand held :/

So the object of my rage. Finally finished reading Hoshi ha Utau, by the infamous Takaya Natsuki of Fruits Basket fame. If you've read that manga (not just watched the anime), you'll understand what I mean.
For 9 volumes it was pretty damn good. Straight-forward shoujo. Then the inevitable Natsuki Twist. Made me seethe with anger until the very last chapter, where it rectified it.
I'm not sure I'm "over it" yet because it essentially cancels out the rage-inducing twist, but at least it ended well.
I guess I'd recommend it if you like some relatively heavy romance. It's slow, almost like Toume Kei pacing, but she's like the exact opposite in which she puts you under a deluge of thoughts (Toume Kei has a distinct style where hardly any "inner thoughts" are used, making it difficult to understand what people are thinking). If you tire of the standard romance with super bright sun-light main characters you might like it. But there's a lot of emo-ness, as you'd expect from her stuff.

+ Show Spoiler [Aquarion EVOL 10] +So much to go over, where to start?...
Jin exploring the new world of "women" was hilarious. To him checking out their boobs, and to him referring to their tears as "powerful weapons". The hints of Jin falling in love with Yunoha was done perfectly. Very subtle and romantic.
I was not expecting much, knowing that this episode was gonna be about Jin. But I was really surprised with how they went with this, totally unpredictable imo. Being a new "transer student", he was going to be naturally shy in an environment surrounded by people he doesnt know. He starts to shut off people and isolate himself (this part hit home with me). Yunoha sees this and sympathizes with him, and in turn, we get to learn more about the two of them. Very nice development imo. Definitely not another love-sappy story here, but very legit true feelings.
The music that queued when he was outside her window, just wow... Best fcking soundtrack Ive heard in an anime yet. Really really fitting for the scene and situation.
Then of course, he develops an elemental power. Fucking... YESSS. Just, that part was the icing on the cake.
And Fudo being the usual bad-ass that he is knew what was going on the entire time. And only Cayenne and Shrade were partically aware of what was really going on.
Which starts to make me wonder, what is Fudou's elemental power, assuming he has one? Im gonna guess its something along the lines of being able to see people's true inner self (elemental power). Thats why hes able to decide what unions to form for Aquarion. The more and more you think about this, its kinda like how GC has their inner voids and shit. But I wont even get to that, GC is in no way comparable to EVOL.
Overall, Im buying the bluray set, no matter what the price. I am sold...
