I thought Elfen Lied was pretty bad. The characters reminded me of final fantasy...which is a bad thing. I just had to get that out of my system.

Well I started Eureka Seven. It's been lying on my HDD for months because I didn't feel like watching mecha until now.
+ Show Spoiler + The mech design is pretty cool. At first I didn't like the surfboards, but I got used to them and all the plot around them.
But why does it seem like every mecha show in existance has a boy-protag that goes berserk at one point or another. Goddamn 14 y/os crying "Chikusho Chikusho Chikusho Chikusho!" while murdering people with their uber-hax mechs? -.-;
Is it too much to ask for a mentally stable past-puberty male lead?
I also didn't like the idea of Renton co-piloting Nirvash, cuz I'm sexist and all, and don't want capable gurlz in my mecha, but now i'm at EP20, and since ep 14 renton's been pretty much soloing Nirvash since Eureka has been having PMS for the past 6 episodes, and honestly it's much worse -.-;

There is also the titular requirement, gold can't be obtained on 1st playthrough.

How is ZnT? I tried watching it awhile back and got stuck around episode 13 of the first series before I gave up because of how annoying the guy is. Is it worth giving another shot?
