Arya goes buck-nutty on a Frey soldier's head.
The boy is finally revealed as Bolton's bastard, Ramsey Snow.
Yara gets her brother's penis in a box and goes to make war on Ramsey Stannis and his army are heading to the Wall.
But people on this site are actually saying the episode was meh and they needed better cliffhangers. Man you people are spoiled. It's the best show I've ever watched and it's crappiest episode I will still watch a thousand times more than anything else. But we just got off of the best episode in the entire show's history and that's still fresh in our minds, only natural to be let down. I'd argue that Blackwater was the show's finest episode, yet I get your point kinda. The Red Wedding was the shows best twist. Still, the show would be silly if it had a major twist every episode. There was some serious character development in that episode. Where are Arya and the Hound going to go? How will Jaime deal with seeing Cercei again? Will there be a love triangle developing between the two and Brienne? What's in store for Reek? Will Yara rescue him from the Dreadfort with only 50 men? Stannis and Mance Rayder are both marching on the Wall. What the hell is going to happen there, especially with a leaderless Knight's Watch? What is the Tyrell's game? What is Varys's? What is Littlefinger up to in the Eyre? Find out in 9 months!! The slight letdown, if there is one might have to do with how they produced the show. Season 1 was book 1. Season 2 was book 2, Season 3 is only about 1/2 of book 3, so there's a bit of clunkyness there. If you view Season 4 as a continuation of season 3 instead of a completely new season, I'm sure you'll get the payoff you're looking for.
I'd agree Blackwater remains my favorite episode. I think I might've even liked this episode OVERALL better than the previous.
Though, I can understand why many will probably consider The Rains of Castamere the best and most memorable for quite awhile. I already knew it was coming so the shock of it all wasn't quite there, though my expectations were high as potentially it could've been the best depending on their execution imo.

That sausage eating scene. I had to pause for a few minutes.
|
boring episode
just setting things up for next season which isn't a surprise
Daenerys gets a whole lot more mouths to feed while her true goal is to build up an army to take Westeros
doubt the show is going to show how she takes care of them because the former slaves certainly don't have the logistical connections or experience to do it themselves
wonder if the book goes over it
wonder if cities, states, nations in Essos start banding together to combat Daenerys's war mongering

Only part of this ep i really enjoyed was arya keeping it real, i think her and the dwarf are my favorites. Still hoping for terrible things to happen to Daenyrs

haha I forgot about that. For a brief sec and almost thought he was eating Theon's manhood o.O
wouldn't put it past Ramsay

Okay and that scene with Jaimie and Cersei.. I'm a pussy for romance (between brother and sister). So good.
|
I hope Sandor trains Arya...Girl got it in her to fuck shit up
that and Tywin (like all of his scenes) were the only good parts
the Dany scene is just another Dany scene..nothing to see here type of moment...
I do wonder what will happen to Gendry and what is Stannis' next step the Jon+Ygritte part
Jon is more like his dad and takes oath very seriously so idk if they will be together...he does confess his love though...does love conquer all?
damn I'm ready to watch the next season...mean time I guess it's time to explore into the books

you're all clowns. this episode was great.
i will agree about the last scene being cheesy. and i don't understand why she gets the last scene in both this season and the last.

So I guess that one dude in this thread was right all along... Team Stannis confirmed Team Awesome.

The past season finales have always been less tense and action packed than Episode 9 and have always functioned to clear the fog over the events in Ep 9 and to set up the next season.
Episode 9s have always been the climax episodes with the big "scenes" (Ned Stark execution, Battle of Blackwater Bay, Red Wedding).
Anyway, I'm hoping to finish the 3 (current) final books (Storm of Swords, Feast for Crows, Dance with Dragons) before the next season begins so that I don't get spoiled like I did this season. Was a really really good season.

Great, now I have to read...

Also a funny little moment was when Podrick was walking outside looking awkward as always and 2 pretty young women were watching him behind his back, giggling, and said something like oh my god is it really him?

Noticed that too. I assumed that's why he was making Pod chug wine with him, to get some more secrets lol.

So, after the big hubub over the Red Wedding and me deciding my main reason for not watching the show was childish, I dove in. I have a big issue with the show, that seems to go contrary to what a lot of people I hear talking about it say.
I don't care about any of these characters, bar 2 or 3.

Episode was Ok, More of just a forshadowing of next season. Hopefully it doesnt take forever again. I think she did him a favor, that way he looks like he fought the Wildlings instead of looking like a deserter. Pretty sure she is a good enough shot to have been able to put that arrow in his forehead if she wanted to. Yeah, I don't think it's a coincidence that she managed to hit 3 straight non-vital spots on a moving target. Poor girl... Except he didnt need to pretend he wasnt helping the wildlings, given he could casually explain everything that happened and where the raiders are. He would be believed. If she shot him in non vital areas its because she liked him too much to kill him, but not enough to not try.
Oh sorry, I didn't think she cared how the Night's Watch would react to him. I just mean that she *should* have and *could* have killed him, but just couldn't bring herself to do it. I was just pointing out that her marksmanship is clearly very good given her shot selection.

Have you been watching the entire time and just now figured this out or did you just dive in for the first time and are surprised that you don't care about any character because you know nothing Gahlo.

I started watching the show after all the talk about it last year after reading the books and thoroughly disliking them. I have a major problem with the fact that in this world it seems that the only way to stay alive is be a lying, cheating piece of shit. My favorite character is killed off right away (Ned Stark) and I would argue that he was the only "good guy" in the whole series. I've watched interviews with Martin about the show and he is often asked about the questionable morals of the characters and how their seems to be no good guys. His response is always something to the effect of "that's life. In life there are no truely all good or all evil people." My response is that in real life there is no magic or dragons either. It's fantasy for a reason.
That said, I really like the series. I already know what is going to happen so there is no suspense but they've done a better job at making Tyrion likable (good guyish) and they gave the Hound a sense of humor that is either non existent or hard to pick up on by reading.

HUGE fan of the show, and I loved episode 9 of this last season. However, I found myself very underwhelmed by the season finale...
|
And the best scene was:
Arya and The Hound.
The transformation of Arya begins..... O_O
