I read somewhere that someone was arguing the people of Winterfell should have been able to deal with those 20 soldiers, but if that was the case, Winterfell wouldn't have been taken in the first place. Fact is that a "trained" warrior, swinging a great-sword while having a murderous look on his face is far superior to 10 peasants with no equipment and no organization (10vs1 they might win but it's more likely going to me 2vs1 than 1vs1 than another 1vs1 and 2vs1 another 1vs1 etc etc etc ...)
that might be true, but when the choice is you and your family are getting murdered or you fight against 20 people? And then the looters choice: Try to kill everyone so they have no choice but to fight and taking a few with them, all while there is an army outside that will kill them in a few minutes; or just take some stuff and get the hell out.

All in all, great series again! The northmen were Bolten men(They are men under a bannerman of Robbs, but they are not "Stark" men.) from the Dreadfort, and were told to give an offer to the ironborn saying they can all go home if they give up Theon. So the northmen met with a few of the Ironborn, gave them the offer and they accepted. As to why the fort was burned there can only be ONE option, and that was the Bolten men burned it down. If you follow the show carefully and pay attention to what is said there is no other option. Also, the only people that know of the tunnels in Winterfell are Theon and the Maester. The Maester only told Theon for a reason, but Theon decided against running and was prepared to go out to die in battle, so there is no way the Ironborn left Winterfell without using the offer of Theon for safe passage out.
And what if it was Theon's sister who intervened?

The further this drags on, the worse it gets. Nothing has ever felt epic in this series and that's sort of terrible given what it aims to achieve.

One year until the next season?
At least the last Breaking Bad season is coming soon.

not to mention, Ned's beheading, Dragon's hatching, ... i think i watched the dragon hatching scene 20 times because it was so well done.

Care to expand on that or are you just trying to stir up shit by taking a dump on the show and then ducking out?
If you've been following the show, you didn't think the Battle of the Blackwater was epic? What were you looking for, LotR?

LotR had five midgets, GoT has only one. Clear winner: LotR.
But no, seriously, Peter Dinklage > Elijah Wood and the whole Shire.
And to be fair to the guy saying nothing feels epic, I guess in terms of massive battles and effects, I can kind of understand that. A high-budget movie is much shorter than a season of TV, so they can put a bit more effort into those big moments, whereas in GoT we don't get quite the same visual feast, at least not to the same level. Not that I particularly mind, because the plot itself is quite epic imo, so much depth and intrigue.

Game of Thrones isn't about the massive battles or epic anything. It's about "the game". The politics of power, loyalty, betrayal and revenge.

She couldn't have, because if you were paying attention at all she straight up said to Theon if he wasn't going to go with her, she was LEAVING. Winterfell is 100% useless to the ironborn, Yara could see it and didn't want any part of it and left. She's miles and miles and miles away on boats.
No matter what you've done (read the books, not read the books, whatever) if you follow the show very carefully and pay a lot of attention to what is said/when its said/how its said, then you will see the only option remaining is something is really messed up with the men from the Dreadfort.
That's all.

^^ I agree with this, also the Bolton guy said it was his son, and we haven't even met him yet, so for all we know he could be a dick.

It's still in the realm of possibilities though. All we know is what she said, we don't know how far she got from winterfell. She very well could have had a change of heart and turned around.

I am not ashamed to admit that the dragon birthing scene brought me to tears when I first watched it it was so epic. Then again, I was really high, but still, this series is as epic as it gets for me.
