What happened at Winterfell? I believe I'm right in thinking that the 20 guys managed to escape unharmed past a Stark army of 500 by way of the secret tunnels, but then where did the Stark army go? Would they not reclaim their castle, or at least stick around long enough to stop it burning, check for survivors etc.
All in all, great series again! The northmen were Bolten men(They are men under a bannerman of Robbs, but they are not "Stark" men.) from the Dreadfort, and were told to give an offer to the ironborn saying they can all go home if they give up Theon. So the northmen met with a few of the Ironborn, gave them the offer and they accepted. As to why the fort was burned there can only be ONE option, and that was the Bolten men burned it down. If you follow the show carefully and pay attention to what is said there is no other option. Also, the only people that know of the tunnels in Winterfell are Theon and the Maester. The Maester only told Theon for a reason, but Theon decided against running and was prepared to go out to die in battle, so there is no way the Ironborn left Winterfell without using the offer of Theon for safe passage out. And what if it was Theon's sister who intervened? She couldn't have, because if you were paying attention at all she straight up said to Theon if he wasn't going to go with her, she was LEAVING. Winterfell is 100% useless to the ironborn, Yara could see it and didn't want any part of it and left. She's miles and miles and miles away on boats. No matter what you've done (read the books, not read the books, whatever) if you follow the show very carefully and pay a lot of attention to what is said/when its said/how its said, then you will see the only option remaining is something is really messed up with the men from the Dreadfort. That's all.
She said she wouldn't come back, but she was very concerned with Theon, and so was her father.
I mean, following your logic, Littlefinger told Ned that he would back him up, so we were 100% sure he would. Or that Robb made a vow to marry a girl from the Fray, so he will, and yet he didn't. It's odd to trust so much what the characters said in such a show.

lol, I shouldn't have read the unmoderated mess that is the Diablo 3 forums, just got spoiled in book 3. God dammit.

At least the last Breaking Bad season is coming soon. You're joking, right? BB is coming back? Oo
No, season 5 will definitely be the last one.

Listened to a podcast that had Aron Poul (Jesse) on and he said that season 5 will be more like 2 seasons. It will be 16 episodes with 3 months between first 8 and last 8 episodes, so it's kinda like 2 seasons.
Breaking bad coming back soon is like the only thing that keeps me sane when I think how long it is for the next season of GoT to come back.
Don't really know what does this thrill dude find epic, I can't really think of anything more epic than GoT and especially S2E9 in terms of television.

So i just learned that there is apparently going to be 7 books? Since book 3 is being divided into 2 seasons does tha possibly mean thre could be a total of 12 seasons for the show possibly?

From what I've understood the makes of the series has not originally planned to do an adaption of the whole TVseries. From what I heard there was some key point in the 3rd book (I do not know what that point is, I have not read them) that they at least wanted to get to, everything from there is pretty up in the air. I might be way off on this though.
Also, you never know with companies. A lot of shows get cancelled without seemingly good reasons.
But if you're asking if there might be as many as 10, 12 seasons? Yes, I would think it's possible. At least, let us hope so.

I got spoiled on a major plot point because one fine gentleman decided to start spamming it upon losing in a game of dota .

if they do it right they can put book 4 and 5 into 2 seasons.

Man, I just rewatched Season 1... And it is really painful for me to say that Season 1 is about maybe (Close approximation) ten times better than Season 2... But I'm really glad that it was not the other way around... If Season 1 was the quality of Season 2, I would probably not have been terribly addicted to the TV show...
Honestly Season 1 has no weak, no bad episode. Every episode is fucking epic as hell. The daenarys plotline in season 1 was really interesting, and in season 2 it fucking sucked balls. Not only that...
I sure hope so that the next 300 days waiting are worth it, I hope season 3 is as epic as season 1. I'm not saying season 2 is complete trash, i'm just saying that season 1 is like ten times better. I don't know if you guys agree with me, but most of my RL friends definitely agree with me

This is why you should always read the books first. Both the books and the TV series are too popular, there's no way you can live on the internet for two or three years without being exposed to some kind of spoiler.

I totally agree, but I think it was more about the actors. Some of the better actors have been killed off, and it'll take time to replace them.

Book 3 is unanimously regarded as the best book in the series (so far), so I'm expecting season 3 to be amazing and season 4 to melt some faces (figuratively)

Season 1 is it's own self contained little world leading to the huge climaxes at the end (Ned's death and the birth of the dragons). Season 2 is about the fallout from season 1, introducing new characters like Stannis, Melisandre, the Greyjoys, Ygrette, etc., and building up to season 3. Trust me, Book 3 is the best of the series (out of the 5 books that are out). And if there is any book that deserves to be broken up into two seasons, book 3 is the one. The next two seasons will dwarf everything you've seen so far. It will compel you, frustrate you, inspire you, excite you, and enrage you. There will be times where you will want to hurl your TV set against the wall, yet still, you won't be able to wait for the next week's episode. I know shows don't last forever, and a lot of shows get cancelled before their time. Yet, I've been hoping and praying since the first season that the show could last long enough to get to book 3. I sympathize with the people who think season 2 was a bit of a downer compared to season 1, but once you see how the next two seasons unfold, it will all be worth it and more. To put it simply, Book 3 is the "Empire Strikes Back" of this saga.

I think I figured out what happened to winterfell. Because we dont get a clear concept of time it could be the Fray people pissed about Robb and the nurse. Robbs mom says he is a dangerous man to cross.
I will find out soon enough I just bought book 1. I watched s1 close to s2 so the wait wasnt that bad, but now its a 10 month wait and I cant handle that.

As far as I'm aware, the only people that even know about Robb and his little affair are....well the two people in it and Cat.
There is pretty much no possible way the Freys could be involved.

I'm sure a lot of people are wise to Robb's love affair with Talisa (they're not exactly being discrete), and a significant portion of Robb's army are Freys. That being said, the wedding is the important detail and the only other person who knows about that is the Septon who married them. I don't think Walder Frey cares if Robb is getting a little sally on the side, he's only concerned with the political marriage that puts a Frey at the right side of the king in the north.
As for how the timelines line up. Things seem to happen more or less simultaneously. It always seems to take an episode for news to travel between the major geographical regions.
