I remember the scene from the book and about what time I read it (most useless information ever if you are searching for something...) that it was explained and I think 1 was rangers comming home but I don't remember 2 and 3. Apparently everyone in here knows and I can't find it nor do I remember the scene in the series.

They pulled some stuff from book 3 into the season, and left some out from book 2 to show in season 3. (Hope it's okay mentioning that here)

One season pr. book so far, but season 3 will not cover all of book 3 (which is huge). There have also been some spillover where scenes have been shifted backwards and forwards.

And this time around he wanted to end the fight because they were getting close to the wildling homebase and wanted to get killed before he gets tortured. Made pretty good sense to me.

A couple of episodes ago Quorin said something to Jon along the lines of "When Mance attacks, one crow in his army will be worth a thousand on the wall." He sacrificed himself so that Jon could "prove his loyalty" to the wildlings by slaying one of his brothers, and they would likely be killed anyway. Right before he died he said "We are the watchers on the wall" or something to that effect. Essentially reminding Jon of his vows and why he made the sacrifice.

And either this is a plot hole + Show Spoiler [slight spoiler] + (happened differently in the books) Well, it would make sense why the black guy got Dany admitted to the city in the first place. To get her dragons to give to the Warlock in return that the warlock kill the other oligarchs. What doesnt make any sense is 1) why didnt the Warlock just let Dany and her starving band screw of and a day later send out a raiding party to kill the starving and thirst and weak refugees and get dragons and Dany? 2) Why did the other oligarchs take the Black guy seriously if he had nothing? Even if he talks a big game about being wealthy or whatever he still has to find some initial money somewhere for his house and his gold. Its a trading city after all. 3) Why did the Warlocks put Dany right next to the dragons? seems like their magical fortress of doom has many doors, why take the chance that she does in fact have some power over controlling dragons? And why were the dragons awake in the first place? Anyway it seemed like a lot of really random and unanswered questions.

Compared to him Joffrey is a white dove. I mean King Slapped is just evil, you know what to expect of him. But this guy is like a mix of Cersei, Littlefinger and The Mountain all in one. Fuck him. His treason(so easy, lol) proves that he was just playing him like a puppet all along, probably for his own goals, he wasn't a friend of Theon or cared for him in any way. And at the very first sign of weakness he delivered poor Theon to his enemies. Also I didn't like at all the comedic element with theon's situation. He was arguably the most tragic character of the series, why would you fucking spoil that vibe. Just bad story writing there.
