So many Hobbit jokes were made when I was watching this episode with my family. You just can't take this episode that seriously with how hard they were riding the LotR train.

Or were these just illusion Dothraki summoned by Brann's mystic powers, showing up and vanishing as the plot demanded? I can't imagine they were okay with the Unsullied "fuck it let's leave" plan, but since there's no named characters left of them they couldn't express their displeasure. Overall better than expected/10

I can't belive John was resurrected for nothing, well, for being manipulated by Tyrion What was the point of a tension between John and Grey Worm for last two episodes? Just to get a seconds of a screentime? And while two dragons got killed, but played a key part in a plot, Drogon just flew away? Mkay

Where did the Dothraki go afterwards? Some of them stayed in Kings Landing but what was odd that it seemed like when Dany said no more pillaging they stuck to it. As a note I am basing this off the Dothraki you can see as Jon is being escorted to his ship just casually moving around as though this is their home now.

Robert needed money and he clearly seemed to know who he owed me money to (he even tries to get Ned to stop fighting the Lannisters because he is "half a blood kingdom in debt" so he probably knew where the other half was but did not care). Tywin seemed to know the entire time as well. So he was not keeping it a secret from the important people. He just did his job. "The master of coin finds the money. The king and the hand.. spend it." At least in the books, they said that Littlefinger wasn't just borrowing money, he was borrowing and loaning to others at higher interest rates, and reinvesting money in other business investments including his brothels. As for Bron, beyond the silliness of honoring that "debt" coerced by crossbow, High Garden wouldn't have been theirs to promise. At the time it would have been Dany's (assuming someone who lived there wouldn't have claimed control of the region before they could just take it). Anyway, the episode was about what I expected, and probably about as good as could be expected given how bad the set up from last week was. Some brief thoughts: + Show Spoiler + The damage was done last episode with Dany, so there wasn't much that could be done to save that. Her speech didn't make much sense regarding liberating King's Landing, considering all the citizens were dead. Then she went back to wanting to free the oppressed, ect. I guess that's just crazy talk? I figured either Jon or Arya would kill her. The transfer of power after her death was certainly the most bloodless of any in the show's history. The Unsullied killed the surrendered Lannister soldiers on the spot, but took both Tyrion and Jon prisoner and let both go because the council said so? Bran's the king. King's Landing got completely repaired in miraculous time, and no visible long term effects for having it's entire population killed off. Jon gets sent to the Wall, which isn't even part of the kingdom any more, and has no apparent point any more with no White Walkers and the Wildlings all being friends now. So I guess it's more of less his own personal kingdom now that serves no real purpose. At least he got to be with Ghost again. The kingdom is remarkably free of any conflict. I've lost all attachment to all the show versions of the characters so none of the character endings had any emotional resonance for me.

As far as mercenaries go if you list all his accomplishments and how much he fought / saved the Lannisters... they were right to grant him power. He pointed a bow at them but he was paid to kill them. So he went in, "Look Lannister boys, I'm sick of all your shit and I've fought for you against mad lords, dragons, mad queens, sand snakes, and other freaks. Gimme a fucking castle." He's earned it more than most. =p

It's like the allies after WW1 decided to create on purpose WW2. I'm not angry with the ending surprisingly. I'm so frustrated and confused I don't know how to feel.

They ever consider how allowing the North to secede just like that would set a bad precedent for the Iron Isles and Dorne that only creates more strife? Oh wait, D&D don't bother with the politics.

Yara was there for a reason, right? She acted like they were part of the new council to choose the king.

I can buy into Tyrion as Hand, Davos master of ship and maybe Brienne as Kings guard. Bronn is completly out of place (even assuming they really did just fucking give him Highgarden), Sam is not even a full Maester is he? Even if... And Podrick? Like for real? Even he gets to be a Kingsguard? Ugh..
