Don't forget the daylight kidnap that Dexter did and Dexter's clothing at the party.

How do you know that that evidence doesn't get brought back up in the next season? + Show Spoiler +You mean the blood on her dress? My point wasn't about the evidence like traces being found. My point was they showed her dress and there wasn't a drop of blood on it... There's no way she had time to clean it all off and make it back before the new year countdown(Masuka even said before she found out where the car was "It's almost time!)... Edit: Spoilered just in case. I didn't really mention anything too Directly but don't want to ruin it for others... Though kind of your own fault if you read this thread before watching...

Such a disappointing finale I was really hoping it would be good

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD!!!
I've been waiting for her to die since season one!

Dexter gave Debra the proof she needed to arrest Hannah for a crime she did commit.

Did anybody catch the message before the episode started? "In light of the recent tragedy...."
What did it say?
|
+ Show Spoiler +I'm not actually sure how I feel about the finals. Debra shooting her was ok I guess, nothing too unexpected. Doaks flashbacks were awesome (everyone was so much younger!), forgot them over the years. The idea of framing Laguerta with the shirt is freakin awesome, never saw that one coming.

Well they really jumped the shark with this one. Really sad that what was once a super top tier series has devolved into this mess. It's still entertaining, but in a trainwreck'ish kind of way.
|
i liked the doakes flashback, you gotta admire the instincts he had about dexter
comparing how things were in season 1, to how messed up things are now in this latest season. as dexter found love/worked outside of his code = things get more screwed for him and the people around him. i feel a tragic ending coming for him, i just cant see him riding off into the wind and escaping it all.
|
This wasn't the smoothest finale, but I really liked it anyway. The acting felt superb to me, especially from Michael C Hall. When they showed the flashbacks from season 1, it reminded me how much his character has grown, and it seems like he's learned a lot about himself in these past few episodes. I've also enjoyed Debra's struggle much more than most of her plotlines in the past. I think it's a great way to lead into the final season.
|
Really disappointed by this episode, especially after seeing how good the teaser for the episode looked like, it was all fake hype for the audience and we ended up with a mediocre season finale.
|
This ending was very very similar to the books I think. It was nice to see them bring it back to the books after 7 seasons of doing their own thing.
I don't see why people are disappointed with the episode. Deb just murdered her own boss who she knew was innocent. Maybe this show has desensitized some to murder and the motivation to murder, but that's a big deal.
|
That may not be the ending season 7 deserves but that's the ending we need right now. It sets up perfectly into season 8. The clusterfuck that will become that crime scene. The new Dexter and Deb thing. Combined with Hannah being free... It's going to get real crazy in season 8 boys. Hold onto your dicks.
*edit for typo*
|
Also. It just hit me that the slipped in whole reborn line... while Deb just killed an innocent... in a shipping container... just like Dexter... watched an innocent get killed... in a shipping container... Fuck.
|
Ok perfect, deb is a killer, laguerta is dead and yvonne will be back. Why so much hate? I think the finale was decent and I hope the next bad guy will be a cannibal.

I honestly just think they (the writers) got tired of him acting that way. I doubt it was actually an intentional development, like we see from the characters in Breaking bad.

mind. blown. i must admit i'm disappointed with the finale. can anyone think of a way in which (if laguerta can pull phone gps data) deb and dexter can explain why all three of them were together at one location the night laguerta disappeared (since we don't know if they find the body yet)? plus deb called dispatch to find out laguerta's location... super suspicious if you ask me. bizarre.

No way. Dexter's development is what the show is about. His behavior started changing when he married Rita, and every season since has revolved around Dexter becoming less awkward and more human. All the characters that pop in and teach Dexter life lessons (usually before dying), and he powers up a little bit each time, like Mega Man. At times it's even too overt. How could you miss it?
