Just be prepared to be surprised no matter what your view on religion is. The ending is one of the best things I've ever read. Edit: going to read slaughterhouse-5 now. finally got around to finishing it up after forever xD It was great, the part where he just spends 5 pages alphabetically listing the christian martyrs was a very lolwtf moment. Saramago is fantastic =]

![]() Also, it's so unlike the cliché I had in mind so far, it's incredible, even if I knew those cliché were very likey to be bullshit.

Quite a good book if you like something in the harry potter genre /trials and tribulations of a chosen boy (or vice versa I don't know which book series came first). Is ender's shadow the next book in the series? no, speaker for the dead is the next one. Ender's shadow is the first book of a seperate series about a different character (bean), it basically tells the same story as Ender's game, but from bean's perspective, the shadow saga follows bean. multiple books have been released in non-chronological order, so if you want to read it chronologically or in the order they were released you should check out the wiki. just finished reading dune ![]() it was a good book but a bit confusing and not as good as it was hyped up to be, or maybe I let myself get hyped too much. Gonna start on Neuromancer soon. anyone know what that one's like?

Gonna start on Neuromancer soon. anyone know what that one's like? Neuromancer is fucking amazing. William Gibson is one of the best living prose stylists of any genre.

But, if I recall right, the real heavy stuff begins in Chapter Two. I was not able to make it through Capital. (Of course, it may have been because I had recently finished my thesis and my brain was not up to it.) Good luck!

He's always had really innovative ideas, and Neuromancer starts out really impressively and explosively with its style, but I've never found that he maintains storytelling and styling that's very far above average once you get past the scene/setting establishing action. I got really bored halfway through Neuromancer, for example. It's still an amazing book though, it's a must read for any sci-fi fan, the prototypical cyberpunk. I just finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Probably one of the best teen fiction books I've read, it just rings really true and hit really close to home regarding my own teendom and beginnings at college. It also captures for me why I was so attached to Harry Potter fanfiction (yes I was, hehe) back in those days, the appeal and the immaturity of it. A very heartfelt and sincere and thoughtful read, and compelling for me.

This was also my impression of Neuromancer. The setting is what makes the book but it might aswell have been a short story, since the story itself is rather dull.
