Nigel? Yeah, probably... which I think is sad, because Good Guy Louis is so awesome.
I just realized: There weren't any British merger characters in the last episode, were there? That's weird... I feel that they should have at least played a minor part (as the merger is a huge deal and is making some people crazy).
At least next week's episode should be featuring + Show Spoiler +

the British Harvey Specter.
The whole thing with Nigel pretty much showed why Louis is the way he is. He has experienced so much disappointment and ruthlessness that he could not imagine that Nigel was being real when he proposed that agreement with the lists. They constantly show his "nice" and "sweet" side even when he was being a dick to show that he basically was molded into his dick state as a response to working at that firm.

I honestly felt so bad for Louis, like the guy deserves some good happy news sometimes, like at the end even though harvey and mike got back together, JUST THE FEEELS MAN I GOT HIT TOO HARD, just couldnt feel good about the ending knowing louis was let down again
I'm amazed that Louis is getting so much love, i find him repulsive. And i'm not talking about appearance, it's all about his manners and "bravado". Plus, he is a petty, vindictive douche. One of the greatest joys this show brings me is when Donna and Harvey mess with him.

I think Louis is a very detail oriented character, and he enjoys the smaller things in life to the fullest. Him being vindictive is the result of how people have treated him in the past. The real Louis as we saw values friendship and tries his best to make a relationship work. I felt the same way you did in season 1 about Louis, but the writers are providing more details about his character and showing a better side of him, and it's swinging me over .

I'm always a bit disgusted at how shows like to portray some characters as incredibly awkward and lame. It's not enjoyable to see Louis fail so childishly socially and then try and root for him as a normal character. Or be invested in any clash he's in if I know that at any time, he could just be owned like a child as he has been many times before.
Louis isn't at the top level of the firm, he's completely out of the loop of what's happening at the upper level with Harvey and Jessica. He was clueless about what was really going on with Hardman until he was notified of his patsy status and he'll always be relegated to that lower floor.
The only shot he has to be more than a bit partner stuck as a quartermaster is for Harvey and Mike to win their knife fight and come out on top.
