That would be what everyone would jump to, wich is why they removed that possibility. Jesse knew he had it on him after he left the house because he checked in the morning. He never met the kid after that but he did have the poison pill on him. How could the kid steal it when he had it in the morning and never met him after. That is why the child has to have been intentionally poisoned. Someone took the pill from Jesse and gave it to the child. Walt is a pretty unique TV-character now that i think of it. Wether he poisoned the kid or not, nobody would really be suprised if he did. Not many main characters in TV that are that depraved yet whom we still root for somewhat.

The kid is just sick for no great reason Gus poisoned him, in order to help him in the hospital where he says he has ability to get doctors etc, ie win jesse over by going though the kid. Walt poisoned him, i think it's unlikely he started this for his family, would he destroy another family in order to strike back at gus he has no issue with taking down criminals but just bystanders doesn't seem to be his thing at least i don't have anything to think other wise. If he did i don't think saul would help him he doesn't seem like the kind of criminal. I think the former is the most likely.

I think the gun spin scene says a lot, whatever he was coming up with led to his death in the end. Only way out he saw was when it pointed at the flower (innocent). He could kill Jesse and he would be Gus' only cook, but he would still be a peon, nothing else. He needs Pinkman to kill gus, but Jesse is loyal to both sides, pinning a kill on Gus would do it.

Walt even has a short line on how if the choice comes down on them (him and Jesse) or someone else then it will always be them. Walt had no problem letting Jesse's girlfriend die, he had no trouble letting Gale die and now he's finally going to break bad by killing (or nearly killing) an innocent child in order to turn Jesse against Gus. Walt knew Jesse was drifting away from him, they had a big fight. He knew he had to do something drastic to get Jesse back in his team. Walt has been breaking bad for 4 seasons now. I recon Walt will have killed the kid but that it finally catches up to him in the 5th and final season.

Arrrgh, it's like when I watch a show and the actor's speak 'Chinese'. I feel your annoyance.

Well there is a difference gale is not innocent he may be a dandy but his hands were not clean, and letting someone die is passive walt wasn't actively doing it. Walt has no problem with inaction furthering his goal, or action against those who wronged him, but a random child who's only crime is that jesse knows him?

From a purely calculating point of view though I could see Walt devising that plan as it really was probably the best way to get Jesse on his side quickly. It's possible that maybe walt gave him a very small dose and will try to explain/ rationalize to jesse that he was never in any real danger because he knew jesse would figure it out. The scene that struck me as the most powerful in the episode was near the start when he is basically saying his final farewell to his daughter. The pained look on his face without any words as they get ready to leave conveyed so much. You can get the feeling he's thinking about how he'll never get to see her grow up without him saying a single word.

He has been living in the states for more than a decade with minimal spanish contacts, its pretty natural for people to develop an accent on their mother tongue in that scenario.

If you look closely, I see him realizing he's droping something, but he keeps walking. I think it's a minor error in that scene that the actor just kept walking and noone noticed or they didn't edit because it's really small. It looks like a paper anyways, not cigarettes
