As for the episode tonight - nice acting. Kind of weak subjects were dealt with during the episode. A lot of talk at the White residence, Walt + Sky, Flyn+Walt buy a car, talking with Bogdan, Jessie and meth heads. It's nice and all - but it's not Tuco in the desert with an assault rifle pointed at Jessie. Walter trying to make both parts of his life work side by side while not knowing how much longer he has to live. Hank showing up to end the episode on a high note. That's the Breaking Bad I know and love. Season 4 is slowly introducing a lot of themes, meaning there will be some slow episodes ahead. But once it picks up the speed it's not stopping until the end of Season 5.

When the plot episodes start coming I'm sure the show will become amazing once again - like s4e1. I have a good feeling about next weeks episode. As for the episode tonight - nice acting. But once it picks up the speed it's not stopping until the end of Season 5. I feel like they are less filler, and more about character development. We are seeing Walt's image of himself has changed, and Skylar's realizing that as well. Jesse is also growing to resent Walt, which he has before, but this time he has a very obvious but suspicious person to turn to. As much as he resents Walt's statement that all of this was about him, he still heard the reasoning behind it and had to ask Gus why him. Basically, all three characters are being set up to be disillusioned about themselves and their state in the world.

I am curious if when Gus answered Jessie's question: "I like to think I see things in people" - was he being honest or was he just saying it to play Jessie?

Gus is playing jesse, the whole idea of meeting while jesse was there i think is a huge indicator. Usually mike is the one meeting gus, dont you find a little bit odd that this time it was the opposite (so they don't reveal gus hideout). By this, Gus is trying to make jesse belive that he belives in him. Had Gus seen anything in jesse, he would've seen it in the beginning, if anything he's seen that jesse is very manipulable, and just needs a couple pats on his back to feel better about himself and do whatever you need from him (good friend).

What he saw in him is the even if he could have run and hide, he went and shot Gayle (or htf his name is spelled). Then he organized him a test. The episode ending on the quote "no matter how you look at it, the kid's a hero". So once again, they see a guy that given a chance will stay loyal to the end. Now that doesn't exclude manipulation, but Gus might be honest on what he says. The thing I don't understand are these truck attacks and why the authorities point of view haven't been showed at all (or at least the news "a second chicken pollos truck attacked...)
