I don't think Gus is interested in Jesse at all. Jesse's recklessness is 10x more costly than what his loyalty is worth. From the first day Gus saw Jesse ("your partner was late and he was high") he had a disdain for him. Gus is playing Jesse to keep him out of trouble and to separate him from Walter. He is doing it in such a masterful way that Jesse doesn't even know it. The fake robbery and then last episode the line Gus gives to Jesse, "I like to think I see things in people" was great. Gus is a legend in this game and he is 2 steps ahead of anyone else.

The "...don't smoke it" forshadowing was way too obvious right?
They wouldn't actually...

They wouldn't actually... I'm thinking it could forshadow that he will give the cig to someone to kill them (whether intentional or not). Yeah it would be pretty lame if he got high, smoked it, and died, and the series ended lol.

jesse's monologue at the narcotics anonymous meeting was amazing :o. definitely deserves an emmy

I almost forgot what a great character Jessie Pinkman was until this episode. Great last scene as well.

Mmm Jesse episodes have become more and more amazing. I honestly don't see Gus making it out of this season alive anymore. Cartel on a warpath incoming and DEA getting hyper suspicious? For being hyper careful he let his greed disintegrate the stability of his operations.

I don't have much to add. This was an awesome episode of an awesome show.
If Walter's son working for Gus I'm going to lose a gasket. I can't handle anymore tension, man.

I think Jesse's gun had blanks in it

great episode, this show really has been good the entire time.
im confused tho, was that like a special version of rage made to be used for the tv show lol?
cause pretty sure its not a on rails shooter

Haha, probably just stock footage they told Jesse's character to act to.
Great episode I must say, they really are winding the tension to close out the season. Can't wait to see how it's going to end.

2 steps ahead? i don't think so. - leaving finger prints in a meth chemist's house is not 2 steps ahead. if he were smarter he would erase all traces of him or ties connecting him to another person. - allowing the chemist to write out the 300 thousand dollar equipment on his damn napkin is hardly 2 steps ahead. - allowing his chemist to keep a notebook of meth instructions is hardly 2 steps ahead when you don't account for the other variables that can come back and bite you. - not having enough strict staff to monitor walter's actions lead the lady cleaners able to find out about the meth lab which could have been anyone. - the fact his chemist got killed really shows a lack of security. especially since it's pinkman who literally ran up, rang the door bell and shot him in the face. if you have more than 50 million dollars to throw and that's probably a small number to him, you'd probably think his main employee who's supposed to outdo Walter soon enough would be protected at all cost.
if anyone has ever seen death note, that's more along the lines of 2 steps ahead. 1st control yourself then 2. control the other variables. in this case gus allows so many mistakes that can be tied back to him by not even giving the chemist a set of rules they have to oblige to except working hours.

I loved the dialogue in this episode...Jessies monologue goes without saying but my favourite line outside of that was when hank says 'Uh i dunno about this one, he might eat up all your profits' in response to Gus offering Walt Jr a job.
Also loved the way the scene at the front of the church is shot, with the counselor(can't for the life of me remember his name) standing a step above Jesse, and in the light while Jesse is in the dark, yet when he walk in the door he is immediately going downstairs into the dark. I dunno i'm probably overthinking it but it just seemed so perfect to me!

This season is so suspenseful I get so angry when I miss an episode for more than a day or two.
