Been waiting since Boxcutter for an episode as awesome as this. Just thinking about next week makes me giddy.

There's also a lot of this in scenes including Gus, but that's obviously to build up tension, but in scene above I can't seem to find out what real purpose it has. I like it though.

Walt is the an actual chemist while jesse I think just barely got out of high school. The acting in this show is also amaziing. Haven't really a ppreciatted it till this season.

Hank ftw! Great to see him getting back to his old self (even though it probably wont end well in the long term )The Jesse-monologue was pure genius...he has gotten sooooooo³³³³ good since season one. A shame they couldnt contend for this years emmys, he probably would be in for his 2nd one. I cant believe how high quality this show stays, pretty rare on this level. Glad they wont drag it out, but whoa, i have no clue where this goes the rest of the season, we're not even halfway through the season. Good god, i cant get over how great Aaron Paul was in this episode.

It has been shown many times that Jesse is quite smart when it comes to chemistry(not saying hes in Walters league or anything) but he understands most(if not all) of what is actually going on with the meth cooking(due to Walts teaching). Not saying that it will go that way, but the potential is there in Jesse.

Months and months of observing Walt's meth cooking and every steps, Jesse got it down. It's not about understanding chemistry, Jesse has all the basics covered from Walt's teaching of meth cooking. BTW, I don't see any single potential in Jesse regarding chemistry nor there was any hint from the show that he has potential in chemistry. The guy is a complete dumbass when it comes to science and especially chemistry. It's a fact.

The guy is a complete dumbass when it comes to science and especially chemistry. It's a fact. As i said...Walt taught him, and taught him well, he *knows* what he is doing in the Meth lab, chemically, which was the entire point of what i said, whether he has chemical knowledge of things that have nothing to do with meth cooking is irrelevant. Of course it is due to 'months and months' of observing AND him actually doing it...how else do you get taught? You think Walt just woke up one day knowing everything? He spent years learning. Secondly, if you think there is no hint what-so-ever, you obviously didn't watch very closely. As early as the first season it was HINTED that he may not be a 'dumbass', as even Walt believed that he failed in high school chemistry because he didn't apply himself. Not to mention the fact that its already been shown long ago that he can cook meth of close, if not equal quality to Walt, all by himself. A feat that not Even a 'nerds nerd'(thanks Hank) in Gale could understand...you know until he was taught...

Implying Victor was also smart in chemistry because he was able to cook a meth that is comparable to Walt and Jesse's just by observing. Yeah sure.... Your whole argument is that Jesse is actually smart when it comes to chemistry just because he can cook a pure meth. That's like saying I'm actually smart at computer engineering just because I can build a custom PC. Secondly, if you think there is no hint what-so-ever, you obviously didn't watch very closely. As early as the first season it was HINTED that he may not be a 'dumbass', as even Walt believed that he failed in high school chemistry because he didn't apply himself. HINTED EXACTLY WHERE??? I've watched every single episodes and there wasn't a single hint that Jesse isn't exactly a dumbass when it comes to chemistry. But I do remember scenes where he fail to know that hydrochloric acid eats up everything but plastic, resulting in one of the most hilarious and fucked up scene in season 1 of Breaking Bad.

They have a bloody camera up there, any experienced cook could peer through the tapes, learn the routine and replace Walter. Gus CLEARLY is concerned about all the random contingent variables that can pop up and dilute his product, or delay it, however small. Which is why these theories that Jesse is being geared up to kill or replace Walter dont get off the ground. If thats actually the direction this show is going, its just an example of incredibly irrational writing. I think all Gus is doing with Jesse is keeping him off drugs and screwing with Walters mind. I cant get rid of you [yet] so i'll at least screw around with you. I have a feeling that the chief is aware of Gus and his operation, and runs some sort of protection. He looked very nervous and uneasy during the whole thing.

Yeah it would be pretty lame if he got high, smoked it, and died, and the series ended lol. That would be a pretty terrible idea because the glass capsule containing the ricin would either have to burst (in which case the person smoking the cig would immediately stop and may not even inhale any ricin) or the plastic cap would have to melt off, which the smoker of the cig would be able to smell far before any ricin could get out.

I would have to partially agree here, I don't think they're getting Jesse ready to replace Walt either. I don't think it's just screwing around though, Walt was on to something when he gave Jesse the poison. I think they're trying to use Jesse to find out what Walt's up to. Perhaps use him to pressure/control Walt. Gus obviously knows that Walt wants his ass.
