Maybe Arya was not the one who was stabbed, faceswap yada yada. It's a bit far fetched but there are clues here and there. Why the hell is she roaming carelessly in the city when last episode she seemed to be waiting for an attack ? Why did Jaqen say that a new face will be added anyway ? The waifs face if she disobeys ? Jaqen told her not to make arya suffer and she twists her knife into her gut ... instead of going for the throat for example. Where is needle ? Last episode we saw her taking it. Why and how does she have so much money on her ? I mean it could just be sloppy writing but this time I'm willing to hope there is an other explanation. EDIT: New guess is it was Jaquen with Arya face This is how I understood it. No one put on Aryas face to test if the Waif would follow orders or if she would let her jealousy guide her. Of course, this raises a bunch of new questions: Why even show that to the viewers, unless Arya goes back to the faceless men? Can the faceless put on faces of the living? Where is Arya? I think the simpler explanation is Arya got stabbed, will get healed (maybe by the theatre folk or maybe a red priest), and then escape back to Westeros. Arya is still hiding i guess. Jaqen wanted to test the waif. In season 5 it's shown that you can wear faces of the living. I Arya's plotline with Jaqen still ends for now, thats why he booked her the passage you mean the scene where jaquen kills himself and then he's standing right there, alive? that's more likely due to bad writing / plothole / arya hallucinating, than it being true. otherwise what's the point of removing faces from the dead people shown in this season... And what's the point of showing arya sleeping with needle waiting for the waif to come if she then goes around the city without even being wary of unknown people ?? So many questions :-)
hahahahaha, i admit defeat. world class writing right there

Woot?!?!?! No Clegane bowl? Really?

All that hype for a boring episode

Yeah... I was super super disappointed in the Arya scenes. This is something I will find myself agreeing with the masses in this thread on. I can't believe how they did that and thought it was good. Stabbed multiple times, nearly dead and now just running fine. That could have been handled so much better like wow...
Varys is leaving, I was wondering if he was going to leave. Wonder if that is going to be the scene that happens at the end of book 5.
I know the next 2 episodes will be good, just have a feeling, but this one was definitely the worst one of the season for me.

Yeah what a bad episode :/
|
TERRIBLE. Highlight of the episode was BWB and the hound.

I was willing forgive Arya outrunning an assassin while being injured but the way she almost died then was fine then almost died then was fine again became a bit too much.
I'm tired of Daenerys'.
Riverrun was pointless...the Freys had the castle then the Tullys had it and now the Lannisters have it. What exactly was the point of that? Just to make sure Jamie knew Brienne saved Sansa? Because there's no way they put that in the show to give closure to the fucking Blackfish, who had shown up for 1 or 2 episodes before.
It feels like the writers have run out of ideas and are just stuffing the episodes with book stuff that should be irrelevant for the show and fillers.
It's a shame because it feels like another great show is going to pull a Dexter on me.

Looks like the dragon is BBQing the ships offscreen. You can see a tiny glimpse of it in the background when Daenerys enters the room.

Cleganebowl cancelled???
I bet Varys is going back to KL to kill Kevan

yes, yes and yes. things that are really hard to belive:
0) how did she pass the fountain test if she was arya stark of winterfell all along?
a) it is now confirmed arya, trained assasin, was taking a stroll and watching nature in the busiest part of the city, and was completely suprised by Waif (wearing old lady mask) - like she had no idea how FM operate
b) if you get stabbed multiple times into your guts with no armor, a bandage wont save you. im not saying lady actor couldnt have done some voodoo off screen, but even if she did, it would literally take weeks for arya to recover. remember ned stark getting stabbed in a foot and looking like a mess for next 2 episodes, barely walking and having huge eye bags?
c) im also not one of those people claiming gut shots are 100% mortal, its a fantasy show and i can suspend my disbelief, however its hard to deny that a skilled assasin as the waif would go for guts instead of throat for any reason other than to make it hurt. obviously it was personal for her, so the waif was >someone< at that point... okay interesting, i wonder how jaquen will respond... fast forward... didnt even matter??
d) arya reported everything to FM when she had to kill lady crane. she was reporting everything for months. after she saved lady crane and rebeled, how come lady crane chambers werent the FIRST place FM would check? did waif go and play solitare for 12h?
e) getting a band aid, one serving of milk of the poppy and up to 12 hours of sleep makes you run and jump of the buildings? facechecking huge amount of stairs with a gut injury and bleeding all over the city, then being 100% zen and killing a senior assasin works out how exactly?
f) no injury, perfectly fine health in next scene??

I bet Varys is going back to KL to kill Kevan I would bet he kills Tommen instead.

This was one of the worst episodes of this show so far. They ruined everything they touched in this episode. Only good scene was ZombieMountain killing that one guy.
Jamie goes full retard instead of being a good guy. Arya scenes are retarded beyond description, I facepalmed throughout her scenes. Blackfish dies? WTF! He is like 3x better character and actor than 95% of the cast and he does not die in the book here!! Fuck! They show Brotherhood but no LS?! Die in fire D&D!
|
Oh right, I was surprised when they showed Dondarrion. Maybe Stoneheart wasn't just delayed but cut completely.

I cringed so many times... What's up with the writers and all those stupid scenes with Tyrion, Missandei & Grey Worm Arya being wounded, then a band-aid and totally fine, then wounded again to get out the bed, but jump & run in the street all fine, but wounded again, then all fine again... any of this make sense and that scene where Jaime waves at Brienne... omg

they've said several times that LSH will not show up in the show - they didnt do it now so they won't ever. Today's episode was probably the last one they could've shown it

I really want to start a "kill Arya already" petition.
I was expecting shit to go down (either in Meereen or King's Landing) by the end of the episode, and lo and behold, there's minutes of Arya being beaten up and then having a pointless conversation with Jaqen, and then credits rolled out.
Oh well at least it can't be that bad next episode.

Beyond the obvious Arya invincible action hero scenes, we have the waif acting like she is a T-1000 with her running on walls and impossibly fast tracking, then slow strides when Arya is temporarily incapacitated by her injuries, instead of just finishing Arya off when she was sleeping,or running when Arya is barely limping around. And I guess we are to believe that the waif was never blinded and trained to fight blind during her initiation so lights out was the end for her? And then Jaqen is just cool with her walking away after sending an assassin to kill her...
Finally Mountain kills a militant member of the faith, which you expect some sort of retaliation or consequences when Cersei is summoned to court, and then it's like nobody cares. It makes little sense on the show that trial by combat would be abolished by Tommen when on the show Cersei is on trial for incest, which if proven guilty will mean Tommen is no longer king and will likely be killed as well...
The whole Riverrun story line had no effect on the story line. Riverrun was no factor since the Red Wedding, and now has surrendered and will have no effect after, and of course Jaime is still deeply in love with Cersei on the show rather than obsessed with restoring his honor, so no real character development either. They bring back the Black Fish, and kill him off in a suicidal last stand for no reason off screen. I'm not sure why Brienne and Pod had to sneak out when Jaime is the one who let them in and then let them sail away.
They waste an extended amount of cringe worthy screen time with Tyrion telling bad jokes to Greyworm and Messendei. Where is the Tyrion who was Hand of the King? Now he is a moron. Why does Dany want Tyrion around and alive any more now? Hasn't he been more of a detriment than a positive for her to this point?
