Especially when you factor in the size of this tournament. Like super small events from 4 years ago with 1/100th the prize pool were able to run better than this without even trying. It's beyond a joke. I think one of the REALLY old MLGs was just as terrible. Cant remember which one though. I think it was like the first second Starcraft 2 MLG. I'm like 99% I know the tourney you are talking about. Was it like the first one where it wasn't at an actual event but in like MLGs own studio without a crowd and you had to like buy a pass or something to watch most of the games? If so it still didn't compare to this shit. I don't remember any other event having the stream constantly going down in the middle of games.
No I remember it. This was worse in everything except caster.

Think I watched that MLG aswell, if it was the one where the whole stream audience ended up watching a livestream from a bald eagle's nest or something along those lines.

Of course, I think the entire city's networking failed during that. Infamous eagle stream.

For once i'd watch a french stream if there was one working We can blame Valve for hosting a major in fucking communist china they're so far removed from communist at this point

basically, she said that the equipment was all shit
considering the difficulties involved in moving a complete production studio across an ocean, I think it might be that the new crew got the same garbage
in other words, the reason the chinese stream is perfect and the english stream is awful is because pw put serious money into the chinese stream and got the lowest bidder for english
what a wonderful world But why would Russia be fine. And sweden? The Swedish stream is casting from Sweden via the ingame ticket. China has no control over what happens in the ticket

imo after this event there are two big questions: what the chinese scene does, and what valve does
I really don't think the chinese scene will do much of anything, because from the chinese perspective the event has been running pretty solid minus some delays. it's possible that there's a lot of embarrassment, but I don't see that as changing much thanks to face-saving culture
valve is a bit more up in the air, because this is a major (pun intended) blow to their corporate image. there's no fucking way they just let perfect world get away with this kind of disgrace, and it's very possible that they'll put out an ultimatum of either getting complete control over the event or moving it away to america or europe
this will certainly affect manila, and I think that event might end up running much better thanks to some strong-arming from valve

So you're saying the Americans outsourced the jobs.

It was always about fascism with a very strong political elite controlling everything and holding their own population hostage

Honestly, i'll be surprised if Valve sticks with PW after this mess.

Bring in KR team, Mineski team from SEA, even that one chinese team that did that kickstarter event was pretty good iirc.
